Nioce been looking into the viper system but let me know how you like your system!

I'll probably take pics of the install and give a decently short review once it's installed next Tuesday.

I don't drive auto unless lazy glad we have the option to go shiftronic.

Will be sure to ask no worries since mine is a single pipe I might keep it that way don't have much money and I already run a 40 series flowmaster just want the pipes done instead of ordering a whole new cat back I like my exhaust lol
Well TECHNICALLY its illegal in any state to mess with any emissions device equipped on a vehical and there IS a loop hole to exploit in your case. Federal law, and what I mean is EPA REGULATIONS state that the emissions devices, i.e. the cats, can only be replaced if they are damaged or no longer functioning properly. Mine were damaged from previous offroad adventures and I didn't have the money to replace them at the time. I am looking at magnaflow high cats when im in korea. Ive been lucky to live in places that don't have emissions testing or vehical inspections lol. Now that said...

...I would go 3 inch, but wrap the exhaust with exhaust wrap so that it retains heat energy. Hot gasses flow faster then colder gases do, and by going to a bigger pipe, your exhaust velocity is gonna slow down. by wrapping the exhaust you can minimize the loss of EV by keeping the exhaust hotter, longer. on these engines and the 4.7, they love flow and they react well to exhaust mods. Im running as big a pipe I dare go on the duals and it 2.5 inch all the way from the headers to the rear bumper, if I had stayed with a single exhaust it would be 3 inch. Exhaust Velocity makes power (as far as exhaust goes) the faster you get the exhaust out the better, but beware as this can lean out the engine, which is why I have the bigger injectors as a safe guard.

but for you, I think you will be fine going to a 3 inch with out needing anything else

I have the same set up with a viper two way. You wont regret it. Make sure to adjust the glass sensor so rain and stuff don't set it off.

Damn I'm running 3 in front the cat back and the guy said to even touch out y shape design with would easily be another 150 cause to bend pipe to another y design is tough lol so for now slowly but surely we will get my wk running and next week getting a FULL tune up! Jeff anything you recommend lol

Thanks for the advice. The guy installing at my local place (so I could get the lifetime warranty since I bought the parts on Amazon) has had 20+ yrs of experience doing installs and I have lifetime labor/adjustments/etc so hopefully they'll tune it correctly the first time

im sure bro, I've dinked with the factory mids for a long while before building the new ones, overall its 2.5, with the 2.25 carrying the exhaust stream. Now it briefly is at 3inch from where it goes 2-to-1 going to the flange at the muffler.

Full tune up, Oil/Filter, Spark Plugs, Air Filter, probly wont hurt to change out o2's (all of them) if you never done it before. trans/diff fluid as well. or you could do what I will and just change everything lol

So tell me will it be better? From 2.25 to 3? I mean roughly without messing with the factory mids?. You think when I hit the high rpms it will punch? And your right I should just change everything hahaha. Well cause I'm anal when it comes to my oil change lol but everything else could be stock right? I probably won't need to change the air filter since I'm running the k&n ha

Well what I was running when I had the dynomax cat back was the 2.5 inch that it came with, and while the 3 inch give better flow rates over 2.5, the 2.5 inch may give slightly better low end, and the 3 will give better top. both will noticeably improve mid range power, with my current setup, it starts pulling hard around 3k rpms and the power starts to drop off around 5,4-5,5k rpms. when racing, I shift a 6k so when it hits the next gear, its deep into the power band at 4-4.5k.

That's leaving the factory mids alone

everything else should be replaced with New stock parts, do you have the cleaning kit for the k&N?
