not exactly the borla S..it's just 2x of the Borla specialty mufflers...At the time i wanted the closest sounding to the borla S as possible( heard it on a 3.7 and sounds pretty good but i didnt want to spend the $$ on the whole catback) Its the 2x borla speicalty mufflers with the SRT resonators.

Does the resonators change the sound that much? I've thought about removing the SRT resonators and running just those 2 mufflers but decided against it cause of the drone. I know some of you guys run the flowmaster 40 series and say it sounds good but my question is...with the addition of the 2x SRT resonators i have, will it change the sound dramatically?

yes, its a dramatic difference in sound. Think of how mine sounded with just the glass packs. And then with the magnaflows added it softened the note some. It took the edge off. The glass packs became the resonators. If you remove them your exhaust will be more raw sounding.

I actually removed the resonator from my 5.7 and put a turndown with a flowmaster 40 and that's a single pipe and it made a huge difference can't really hear the drone over the sound of my sub but it does sound a hell of a lot more mean

Well backpressure is a myth. Remember how i said it has to do with exhuast velocity and heat energy? A good exhaust system should be capable of flowing 1,5 times the size of the engine. Thats a rule of thumb i go by. Most factory systems are barely good enough by flowing the same as the engines displacement or just under. Thats why you can see power and fuel economy just by increasing the pipe size a quarter of an inch. As long as you have a good flowing muffler 2,5 inch pipe is more than enough on the three sev.
