I'm on the same track Alex. I keep trying different things to get performance out of a vehicle that was just not designed for performance. I really like the body style of the GC though...and the SRT is perfect for me.
I'm getting to an age where I won't be able to really enjoy a hot rod like the SRT for a whole lot longer so I'm getting my ducts in a row to get one for myself....before the year is done Ill have one.

I cant afford insurance on two gc's and if I trade six shooter in on one id end up paying like 40g's for it when I could get one for just under 30k.

Yeah see I'm paying for my jeep and its done in a few months but something I learned from my buddy who got an ss is that you only live once might as well get the car of your dreams and mine since I've seen it I want a SRT even if I keep mine I'll stop putting mods on it and start getting ready to put a big down payment

See out here in Cali I don't do off roading but I want a jeep that's beefy enough to take the roads that are not meant for srts I have to see how my financial situation is in 3 months

Re: What did you do to your WK today?

This has cross my mind a few hundred times (especially with the cost of each mod), but I have been building for a cross between off road performance and quality drive down the highway (hence the kick ass sound system ) .

Wife drives a 2009 E92 BMW 325i, which is a nice drive but not the 'amazing' performance, still handles very well around corners. debating to upgrade that to an M3 or a 435i coupe to have the sports car and the jeep for the rough and ready ... that way I have best of both worlds !

-------
EDIT: but the cost is the deterrent, just paid off both cars last year and last thing I want is another bank loan!

Once again the only reason why I won't debate this cause trust you and I have similar taste in what we want our jeeps to be a hybrid between off road with performance but in LA where there is no off roaring area as much as I'd love to have might as well have something performance and luxury and the SRT is my dream car so if it comes to worst I'll keep both cars

Thats very sound logic. Im not debating that, cuz I want the same and in some ways have it.

But like my friend with the "SS" said "at the end you have something that when you get older you might note be able to get especially with a family and a house mortgage. I'm 22 about to be 23 in May I set some goals and that is one of my goals. A 08-09 srt8 by 25 and a house by 29-30

Yup I am in the hybrid zone too. Dude there are tons of off road places here. Maybe you can join Greg ( JeepCoop) and I when we go sometime. I was in the same boat as you but now that I have done some mods I would not want it any other way. Honestly I can't see myself driving a Jeep without 4wd lo. Maybe consider upgrading to a 5.7, and saving quite a bit of money that way? They are half the price of the srts now and only a second slower from zero to 60.
