Well the possible cheaper route would be to find someone willing to dyno tune the factory pcm. I was gonna try to fine a tuner first before I went motec

Re: What did you do to your WK today?

Kenne bell was developing a s/c kit but it blew after a few dyno runs. Made 302 on 6psi. The issue is the ring lands are only an 8th of an inch from the top of the piston.

EDIT: I did more digging around on this but;
279 WHP/332 WTQ closer to 300CSHP/350CSTQ on 5 PSI. but remember that was on a 42rle trans which is junk

I'm with you man a boosted six would be sick. Maybe a Paxton super rather than a turbo tho? Those things are pretty easy to fit around from what I have heard.

A faulty ABS/Wheel Speed sensor can cause it if it reads wrong. couldn't hurt to have the trans speed sensors looked at eighter

While I wouldn't mind being S/C, what I have in mind is way more exotic...

Good catch bro, I didn't take into account you guys are running larger tires, that will most likely set off TC as it reads that the wheels are spinning faster(outside tire) then the others. This will undoubtedly set it off. you will need to have the system recalibrated for the larger tire as your TCC speed ranges are now out of whack.

Greenwayer, go ahead and ignore my sensor reply, you will need to have the truck recalibrated for the larger tire

Thanks man I posted on both threads b/c I don't think Jeff checks the other one lol. I have a question tho, even though the tires are bigger shouldn't the ratios for traction control stay the same since all four tires are bigger, therefore it should read all tires are rotating at the same speed? How does a lift affect the traction control?

it all uses the ABS/Wheel speed sensor as well as the IN/OUT put shaft sensors in the transmission. You may have caused a variance between the wheel sensors and your transmission speed sensors. the lift may not effect TCC, but it dose effect the ESP which uses roll sensors and even may uses the same sensors as TCC. Both TCC and ESP work together. when I go and do my gear swap I will need to recalibrate the trans because the TCM has preset shift schedules based on engine load and speed with the sensors on the input/output shafts in the transmission. I know it will throw the truck into limp mode if those two sensor are out of sync.

Re: What did you do to your WK today?

I need to caveat on my above post. By going to a larger tire you effectively chance the overall final drive ratio. now its not much depending on how much bigger you go. typically you can go up to 3% +/- on the size with little effect. Now the factory 245/65/17's for example, are about 29.5 inch in diameter, and that's what the system is calibrated for.

Your tires are right at + 3%

Your tires are 3% taller but they turn almost 3% slower
