Interesting, I've never had an issue with the lights dimming even before I installed my Mega Raizin and did the big 3 with it. I guess the important note is that all sub setups are different and results may vary.

From a quick search, that's a $60 amp and a $80 sub, so that means the box it comes with better be worth the $60 surplus. I had a dual 12" kicker comp setup that I picked up from BB on super clearance for $100 and pushed it with one of my crunch amps and that's the limited experience I've had with the Kicker Comp series. IMHO, it sounded like garbage, but I'm kind of an audiophile.

With subs, I think there are really at least two go-to brands that never fail, and for me, those are Alpine and JL. I can't afford a JL setup, so I went Alpine and have never looked back. Everyone compliments my system.

Like with many things in life, you really do get what you pay for with audio equipment. But audio is subjective so take my advice with a grain of salt. Maybe to your ears that setup would work for you; it just definitely wouldn't work for me.

Did you have just the standard comp sub? Those are pretty bad as that is their lowest line. The one I have is a comp S so it should be quite a bit better, right?

You'll have to wait for an experienced Kicker person to chime in on this one, I'm not familiar with the differences between their lines so I won't pretend to give you any useful info on that.

I run the kicker ks all around topped off with a 10" L5 solo baric sub. It sounds amazing. The ks run about 100 to 195 rms depending on what sizes you have. Example, the ks 35 in my dash run at 40rms and peak at 80. The ks693 in my front doors rms at 195 and peak at 300. The sub I believe is 600 rms and peaks at 1200.

Got my Steel Armadillo switch panel installed and my custom sub switch installed! Next comes integrating my bass knob into one of the blanks like Omelet did!
