Thought I replied to this earlier. It's 07 V8 4.7 limited. 63,500 miles. Got it about a month ago. No other issues. Upon trying to start, no sounds heard. With exception of a click from under hood. All lights come on etc. mechanic called little bit ago, said was "starter motor" 1.5 hours later. Starter motor? Do they mean starter?

Thank you.

Yep. The starter is a fairly simple electric motor, technically called a starter motor. That's what I was getting at this morning with my questions. The starter motor can freeze or stick in place when they start to go bad and leave you stranded w/o warning. It's usually the solenoid that fails, which is the actuator that tells the starter motor to spin and throws the bendix arm out to engage the ring gear. If this happens and you suspect it is the starter, you can usually get it to start by directly hitting the starter motor and/or solenoid(the small piece mounted to the side of the starter motor) with a wrench/hammer or anything you have available. Too late to be relevant for you now but future reference for everyone reading. I assume you don't have a warranty on your Jeep still?

Understood completely. Thank you for all the information. I'm going to call used car dealer it came from and discuss it with him. My wife says they should pay, you've had it a month. I said its the risk to take getting used vehicle. I'm not sure what'll they'll do. I noticed the night I bought on ride home passenger side heated seat button light out and parking assist. Not something noticeable during the day and they're covering the repair partially. Thanks to LXharness who is going to repair it for me, dealer is going to cover the whole job . My dad also says dealer is going to say its started daily since. We can't help you. But like I said I'll give em a call. I've heard about hitting the starter before, but doesn't look like the WK one is too accessible. I had a 5 speed galant and it wouldn't start. Pop-starting that one determined starter issue.

Thanks Davy. I was trying to look around some earlier when I was waiting for mechanic to open, and best news I found is that it was a wire shorting. Of course I wasn't that lucky.
Wow 35k. That is pretty early.
