But you gotta think about gearing and torque. Torgue is what's getting you going. Horse power is for top end. Sox, what is your rwtq numbers? If he is faster its by a thenth or so.

He said he's putting down 535 newton meters of torque which is about 400 ftlbs of torque at the rear wheels. So he's putting down a good 40 ftlbs down more than a stock srt. With a 3.00 first gear 3.73 rear and the additional torque he should be getting a better launch than an srt. That additional torque is really gonna help push that 3.0 gear from 0-60. With the taller first gear (compared to srt 3.6) if tuned right he should be able to get a better 1/4 mile and 0-60, but it's really dependent on his cam and how it distributes the power curves. The problem with the srts nag1 is it is really intended for a lighter smaller car with less power like the lx's. That 3.6 first gear is great for launching a less powerful lighter car but tops out fairly quickly behind a powerful engine. I think chrysler just cheaped out and had this tranny so they put it in the srt jeep. When you start pushing more than 400 rwtq in a jeep I think a 3.00 first gear would be a much better choice. Plus he has elsds which will absolutely kill an open diff in traction. He should easily be .4-.5 secs faster. An srt will run a 13 quarter and I can easily see him doing it in 12.5-12.6.

you hit the nail on the head with the cam and tune. a lot of it is in power delivery, yet at the same time he may be making more torque but if its at a higher rpm then the srt then the advantage is still in favor of the srt.(if were talking just power alone) the torque at the lower rpm means he can get out of the hole faster.

I do however, agree on the gear set in the trans, the shorter gear in the 545, is better. The nag1 may or may not be for lighter car, but the lx weighs about the same as my jeep. mine comes in at 4260lbs while the current srt charger/challenger is between 4300 and 4400lbs(pre 8-speed cars) and I have the same trans, its just tune a little different then the srt. honestly I find the gearing way too long and I will be changing up for a 3.73 over the 3.08.

Yeah it's just that the gearing in the 545 is taller (not shorter), remember smaller number means taller/longer gear . Going to a shorter gear like a 3.73 would probably be a good idea on a v6 jeep a 3.08 is just too tall for that car. The nag1 is actually better behind a v6 since it has shorter gears than the 545rfe.

Anyone heard about this penzoil pure plus oil? They claim it's made from natural gas so it's purer. Interesting....

My bad there. Its almost lunch time and im not fully awake yet lol. I need a monster energy or something. But yeah, I always felt that the nag was nicely matched with the six. It could use a better trans tune to really come alive but its not bad. I really think that 3.73's is what it needs along with a underdrive pully kit.
