I think its easy to get to. Its on the front of the engine at a 40 angle. Down on the lower left side if the timing cover. I can reach it from up top or under neath. I have always done it from up top except the last time I did it I had it on a lift cuz I was also doing somthing else.

What you do is turn your heater up all the way when your driving. Then let the engine cool and open up the drain valve and drain the coolant out. Open up the radiator cap when the reservoir empties. Rinse the radiator by pouring down a couple gallons of distilled water. Then close the drain valve and unscrew the coolant bleed plug and fill it with distilled water until the it start coming out of the bleed plug. Then replace the bleed plug top off the radiator and top off your reservoir. Run the car for a few mins to let water circulate. Then repeat the steps above (don't need to rinse the radiator this time) except this time fill it with a 50/50 mix of distilled water and antifreeze. Drive it around with heat still on. After 2-3 cool down cycles top off the reservoir.

Do you use just standard tap water to flush your system? I don't like to use tap water because it puts mineral deposits into the system. The purer the better! My way is a couple dollars more costly because you have to buy extra distilled water but better than getting deposits in your radiator. Besides you save money on not buying the coolant fitting kit.

My tap water back home has a water purification system on it as well as a water softener. The fitting kit is only a few bucks.

How are you liking that water softener? I am thinking of buying one for my house haha. Is it a pain to fill it up with salts? When you wash your jeep with that water do you not need to dry it since the water shouldn't leave hard spots? I also had the idea of building one for just my garden hose that way I could wash my jeep and not have to dry it since the water is already free of hard spot causing minerals. That would be sick!

Well it makes for the best tasting well water ever. And never needs ice. The salt we use comes in a 40lb bag and we load salt into it something like 3 or 4 months and salt isnt to expensive. I did all the coolant flushes with the t fitting on my old truck. But to answer your question, its very easy. Just lift the cover and pour in the salt. Then you just reset it and your good.
