Did you bore and polish your TB yourself Jeff? I've been kicking around the idea of doing mine but I'm not totally convinced of the gains from a 3.7. Did you just bore and polish the I.D. out a bit tapering from the butterfly outward? I know yours is plastic but same theory applies. Have y'all that have it done noticed any improvements?

I'm sure Jeff felt the difference it's not power but throttle response right Jeff?

Mine was originally ported by the fastman. It's ported from the front to just behind the butterfly (throttle plate). Also fastman installs a larger butterfly. What I went and did was enlarge the port up to the butterfly which made an improvement over the original port work. To answer both your questions tho, yes and yes. I did port it myself (after the original work was done).

The original fastman (before I played with it) made a improvement in everyday drivability and improved power in the upper rpm range, say from 3,500-4,000 to redline. there was an improvement in response as well. After my port work it had the same characteristics but pulled slightly harder and the power came on a little sooner say 3,000-3,800rpms. the majority of my mods seem to have made a improvement at 2,800-3,100 and up, almost feels like vtec at 3k lol.

It should increase throttle response and acceleration... In theory. Reality though, even with an opened up exhaust and high flow cats, I'm not sure it'll do much. I'm sure it'll offer up a little more snap off idle, maybe improved response @ hwy cruising speeds as well? Just trying to decide if it's worth the time to do the mod, if I'm honest though, who am I kidding? I'll probly do it on a whim cuz I'm bored one day and there's no other mods I can think to do in the near future... Idle hands, ya copy?

Be sure to do the throttle body ground mod when you install it too. That should help with the lag and improve response too.

lets just say for the sake of the argument, with all my other mods, from a roll, it ripps when I punch it. its worth it bro, and really shows when combined with other mods. I also have the free-est flowing exhaust you could think of. that and the cai, ported manifold and headers with a full custom dual exhaust setup among other mods

it will help in alex's case but it will not help us with the plastic tb. (07.5 thru 10 3.7/4.7's)

Rgr. In your case though the TB would be the natural progression in your build, you've got literally every other restriction taken care of already, the TB would be your last choke point. I'm sure I'll do it just for fun and whatever gains are had will be a nice perk, that way I don't set expectations high and keep chasing results.

its a very simple little mod that improves throttle response by improving how the tps works, better grounding=better sensor function.

Simple ground strap from TB to block? Have ppl really seen results? Makes sense I guess if the only ground is achieved through bolts and a plastic manifold, I may look into this as well if/when I decide to hit my TB...

I would say a main chassis ground or battery, but the engine would work too. I made some grounds for other things on mine.
