The easiest are the clamp on ones, just slip it over the tail pipe and clamp her down. Personally I'd weld it on, they stay on better that way lol

I don't recommend PD as even the tip on a 3.7 exhaust gets extremely hot, I've gotten temps as high as 500* after it's warmed up. No telling how hot it gets at sustained high rpms.

I recommend using header paint as you can find it up to 3,000* rated for 7$ a can from a local parts store. Plus it comes matte black/silver/red, even a few other colors.

Dropped the beast off at the stealership to get the front passenger axel seal replaced (still under warranty). You should have seen all the techs necks break when I started it up in the service area lol

Hey Bro,
Sorry for late reply .. here you go. I ordered this from Gibson, the stainless steel they use is really high grade, and the customer service was also really good.

I strongly advice not to go with the painting option, as I tried that several times on the old Borla tip (which has a lower grade of stainless, so the paint just turned red and flaked off each time). I called the guys at Gibson and that was their sales pitch; they pick the correct grade of steel

EDIT: I went with the Intercooled one as the guys in Gipson said it has the least chance of changing colour as the temperature is managed better between the hot air and the surface of the outside layer. The quality of the steel and the type of paint as a combination is the main reason for colour changes. Apparently high temperature ceramic paint is the best for this type of application, and I think the type of steel these guys use is much better than the one I had from Borla.

I got this one:

Ah but thats why I recomended header paint as its a ceramic base coating like whats on your tip. I have silver header paint on my headers. No discoloration or flaking after 2 years of daily driving, track days and sustained high rpm. Also popper prep helps prevent the flaking and a high quality paint wont discolor.

Not trying to shoot you down on this bro. That and Alex is looking for a specific size. 2.5in/3out and about 8 to 12inch long. Thin wall non rolled edge. Very limited here in the states for choices in that size.

I stand corrected correct about the header paint. I tried quite a few types of ceramic paint on the old Borla, but it just flaked off no matter what, the guys at Gibson 'claimed' the cheap stainless has also a playing factor.

Why 3 inch out specific? Also Gibson have a 2.5 inch in and 4 inch out slash cut Information Page ... would that work?

I used high temp paint from Rustoleum for the tail pipe after the muffler, and that seemed to hold quite well, shame they don't sell that stuff here in the UAE, managed to get one shipped which was missed by the inspection guys in Aramex NY.
