Re: What did you do to your WK today?

Ugh, went to change my oil last night and apparently when I took it to the shop last and they said that I had a slight oil leak at my drain bolt, they OVERTIGHTENED it. The bolt is now mostly stripped and will be a PITA to get off. Went ahead and took the plunge ordering a F-106N Fumoto valve and clear hosing to alleviate this issue once and for all.

And yes, before anyone whines about wheeling and Fumoto valves, I have the factory steel skid with the small access panel already and don't do any wheeling. Street Crawler here.

Have it powder coated bro. The PC is a polymer that, when applied and baked, bonds to the metal for a permanent and almost indestructible finish. I'm sure you could find a shop close to you that will do it for $20 or so if they've got a batch of black goin in already, it'd be nothin for them to hit that tip while they're shooting a batch. For the exhaust tip, standard powder should be fine, it'll handle over 650 and is almost impossible to chip or scratch. There is high temp PC available which will handle over 1000, but that's overkill for a tip. Just a thought if you wanted to go that route, a can of header paint will do the job too...

Well mine sure didn't. Mine dropped a valve seat at less than 100k miles , which is kinda low for an engine. The hemis are know to drop valve seats at low miles even as low as 5k miles.

I'm not sure that I'd agree that they're "known" to drop valve seats and destroy motors as your context seems to indicate that it's a "known" and/or common occurrence. I'm sure that if polled, the vast amount of HEMI owners on here would concur that they're generally long lasting motors, and several members (off the top of my head) have HEMI motors with 175k+ on them.

However, with all things there are outliers. Any motor can fail under the right conditions, and many factors go into this (machining, tolerances, human error, running motors hard, maintenance, etc).
