Another forum I am on does this, its great for the little nothings not worthy of a new thread. Its a confidence booster for your WK to let it know even the little things are important... oil change, de-badging, painting bits and pieces, repairs, the fact that you finally got to drive it...
Ill start:
- considering I made all of 2.1 hrs for the 6.5 hrs I was at work, I pulled the grand in, pulled the front end off and rerouted my HID relay harnesses for my fogs and headlamps. When I initially installed them I was slamming them in with no time to worry about wire routing or ballast mounting.
-Checked all my fluids to make sure all was still good considering the open heart surgery done to her a couple months back, all checked out good other than what looks like a slight coolant leak from my radiator end tank.
-dusted her exterior and shined the tires (she got a bath last night but it sprinkled on the way home)
-Installed a steel skid plate!
-Saturday I pulled off my steering wheel to resolve my squeeking clockspring and clicking turn signal cancelor cam, In a moment of NON-thinking I spritzed the clockspring with some spray lube, good news... it is quiet... bad news, I had a "check electric brake system" message in the evic and the traction control light on following. Quickly hooking up the witech I found I had an "internal scm failure". 2 days of driving later it went off and hasnt come back (phew)
Took it for a estimate for hail damage, realized I was leaking coolant. Picked up new Water pump, Coolant and some Sea Foam. Tomorrow I will put on new Water pump and run the Sea Foam Treatment.
YES, with the lift and MT's I need to get some of these made up to replace the trail rated badge!
This thread is awesome, almost a year old, about every 3-4 months someone bumps it up then 3-4 people contribute then it gets dusty then 3-4 months later it pops back up... awesome
Yesterday I installed some longer rear swaybar endlinks, replaced my ebrake shoes on the drivers side (they have been replaced before, they were in good shape but the lining was coming off of one of the shoes) followed by an ebrake adjustment. took my die grinder with a roloc disc and cleaned up my calipers where I cut down to clear the wheels.
A week or 2 ago I did a front and rear diff service, dropped the front diff and resealed the cover (leaking)...
1) Took her to Butler Tire and had them install SRT springs and purchased a new set of Toyos - 275/40/20 on front, 315/35/20 on the rear.
2) Pulled out the rear hatch trim, all door skins, and front speaker grills and installed Kicker upgrade (amp and speakers).
3) Went to Tilted Kilt with the boys after a good day's work!
Today:
1) Replaced old HID fog kit with Xenon Depot kit I purchased last year. Unfortunately there was something wrong with both ballasts, so I plugged in the old ballasts to the XD relays and got everything working.
2) Installed black SRT grill
3) Running wires for future sub amp
4) Reinstalling all interior panels
5) Hopefully my license plate LEDs will be in today - if so, they will be installed.

hemidawg do you have a new pic of the front end since you installed the black SRT8 grill? I am curious to see how it looks with the chrome S limited bumper insert on the bottom. I think it would look sharp!
I finally gave her a bath today! After it was all clean I noticed how nasty my tail pipe has gotten. I realized I hadn't touched it in probably a year, so it had a years worth of dirt and mud baked onto it. NOT NO MORE...!!!
I only did the tip where it pokes through the bumper. Didn't see the point in doing all of it since you wouldn't ever see it.
I also cleaned up the bottom since it has spent some time snuggling up to some rocks!
What did you get! I'm looking for a front and rear skid...without a brush guard. Any options you found out there? Really it's a visual thing for me since I just lowered my WK...not that something to help protect your vehicle is ever bad!
You could get one from ASFIR 4x4! They are made from aluminum. I figured this would be a plus for you since you probably wont be taking it off road and weight is probably a consideration.
looks great! I like the look of the blacked out grill but still with the chrome on the bottom. Its a perfect amount, with the window trim and side moldings, and those reps! well done
put in a brand new egr valve over the weekend and my god what a pain in the ass that was. also changed the plugs while i was in there. Waiting for my flowmaster 40 series to get here so that will be next weeks project
On 10-3-11, removed roof rails ( the sides and the cross bars). Never liked them on the vehicle. Also, ordered SRT pedal covers and front and rear SRT sway bars. I already picked up the pedal covers..going today to get the sway bars.
