I use zerex g-05 coolant. Dilute it 50/50 with distilled water. Mine was leaking coolant from the skid plate as well. It was coming from the weep hole on the water pump, replaced it and it was all good

I did a writeup on installing the Oracle CCFL headlight halos and fog light halos along with painting the bezels. The instructions given weren't too bad, but had some holes in them. Oracle Demon Eyes Installation

Damn bro your jeep seems to young to be the water pump already. Honestly I've run the coolant from auto zone that says safe for all makes and models for years with no problems. Just top it off run it and watch where it's leaking from. Then proceed from there.

The lights would be sick dude there's jeep weekend in OC the end of August and would love to have them done for them.

yea im planning to do this myself..It'll be my first time but i have a good idea of what needs to be done. Question...Bleeding out the system...

after the pump is install, you proceed to filling the coolant tank. After that you leave the cap open and let the engine run for a while and continue to pour coolant if needed. Is there anything else that needs to be done?

I read about using a 8mm allen bit to loosen while the engine runs and you should be able to see water/air bubbles coming out? Is this necessary and how long before you tighten that back?

yea it's not even 40k...but after my drive today, i pop my hood and i saw my reservoir tank empty. I noticed coolant dripping from the skids and just from the threads im reading, it mostly the pump? Plus I noticed a loud whine a few weeks back every time i start the car but ignored it.

That's my plan atm..gonna fill it with 50/50 coolant/distill water and see where it's leaking. Does our jeep throw an engine light for low coolant?

Once the pump is installed (or whatever coolant sys work you're doing is done) you'll need to fill with the appropriate coolant. Fill the radiator and let it run, you can top it off as it pulls it down but you'll need to install the cap and let it pressurize. Our systems are a pressurized sealed type and require bleeding. You'll fill from the reservoir tank, being the highest point of the system, gravity transfers the coolant to the rad when needed. Once the motor is warmed up and the res tank is maintaining level you'll need to crack open the hex head plug on the water neck and allow the air to burp out. You'll see bubbles and coolant coming out for a while. Keep and eye on the res and add coolant as needed, when the bubbles stop and only coolant is purging from the bleed hole, tighten the plug back down and make sure your res is at the appropriate level. This process needs to be long enough to get the motor to operating temp and the thermostat open, don't rush it because if you 'complete' the process before the therm is open there will still be air trapped in the motor and heater lines. If you don't get enough air out of the system it'll likely have overheating issues until it's resolved properly. It's not that hard, don't mean to scare ya off if I have, once you get into it you'll figure it out as long as you understand the objective. Good luck and let us know how it goes and if you need any more advice.

^ awesome info bro!
I dont need to mess with the radiator cap while doing this process right? Just fill it from the res tank.

You don't need to, either way it'll all fill the same. The important steps are in the bleeding. Be patient with the bleed plug tho, make sure the motors @ op temp and I forgot to mention earlier but you'll want to crank the heater all the way to hot and have the fan on any setting but off. Once you think you're close to being bled completely, you can rev the motor a bit and that'll increase the water pressure and force a few more bubbles out that may have been hiding in crevices and holding on. Remember, the bleed plug isn't completely out, just a turn or 2 loose, if it's out you risk splashing hot coolant on yourself and that can make for a bad evening.

^you da man!

Any recommendations on the brand of the water pump? Just from a quick search, i see ACDELCO, Cardone,Bosch...all less than half the cost of the MOPAR one.

It would be a toss up for me between bosch and cardone. I went thru 3 water pumps from acdelco in a year in my old truck
