Well said.

In this case, greenwayer, it'd be money well spent. I've tried too many times to do with what I *had*, not what I *needed*.

I know that sounds weird, just a skill set you pick up doing it for so long. You're already behind the 8 ball here so to speak now that you've already lost some integrity of the fitting... Good luck man, don't proceed any further without the proper wrench, it never works out well.

Well they don't make a 20mm flare nut wrench. So I got a regular 20mm open end and that doesn't fit in the tiny space. So I pulled the other side of the line took it out and put it on my vice and practically stood on my wrench. Still a no go. So I tightened the line down in the vice and busted out the 10lb sledge hammer. WHACKED the damn pump real hard and it spun right off. Broke off a ear and cracked it badly but that doesn't matter... The line is still good.

Wow man, I've dealt with stubborn fittings and bolts before but that's nuts! Glad ya got it off, albeit in a round about way. If you broke the body of the old pump you may be out a core charge if you bought a reman but small price to pay, had to be done. It seems you've had a hell of a run of bad luck with your WK man, the things we do for the love of our Jeeps...

Yeah it was almost like playing golf but with a 10lb "club" lol. All the power steering fittings are crazy tight on this car, Alex and I had trouble getting off the ones that go from the pump into the fan but I was able to get them off with some force. But the one on the pump side was way worse than that. Yeah I have had some pretty shoddy luck with my wk but honestly it's my dream car. I can afford to buy any new car but the wk has personality and is really fast but at the same time discreet and doesn't come off as a rich jerk car. Part of my problems are probably my mods and the way I drive...

This time I had learned from my past experience. Had a buddy hold a big block of wood on the rotor, busted out the 10lb sledge and BOOM! Went "golfing" again haha. Popped right off
