Re: What did you do to your WK today?

In regards to getting reverse signal for back up camera.
Pac gave me this link
http://connectors.dcctools.com/
I was looking. Can I use the wires to park assist button to get signal?
There's park assist on/off and park assist indicator signal.
It's safe to assume that the park assist receives a back up signal, correct since it kicks on when put in reverse.

This same thing happened on my acura. hod to use a pair of pliers to make the connector a little tighter so when i put it on it wouldcnt come off. you can also zip tie it so it doesn't get pulled out.

No to sure but when i wired mine up I used the reverse wire right off the left tail light then ran the wire up into the jeep there are like drainage holes that are completely open that go to the bottom of the jeep, wire fit right through. That reverse power wire then powers my backup camera and also gives the reverse trigger wire to my head unit up front. I can't use the camera unless I'm in reverse.

Im really hoping its just loose connections. I believe the yellow starter wire is the culprit? i poke/wiggle at that and it cranked right up.

How does that wire remove? Just grab hold of the pigtail and pull? No tabs to press on it or anything?
Just pulled mine out yesterday. I had to pull the front driveshaft on mine but if your jeep is 2wd you wont have to worry about that. There are 2 bolts on the starter and with some wiggling you get access to the bolts that connect it to the positive wire. Its a 13mm, so just tighten that up. Dont pull the lower 12mm bolt. On the back there is a black clip that pushes onto a metal tab so make sure that metal tab isnt broken/ bent and clipped in properly. There is no plastic clip on that connector. Then check the ground for the starter is properly tightened on the block stud. Atleast that is how it is on the hemi.

Gotcha. Thank you. I need to run remote wire for amp along that side anyways. Was just wondering it I could find the signal some place closer to the headunit. Which color wire did you tap at reverse light? And mine would be the same, jeep in reverse and camera comes on. Figured maybe the back up sensor uses that signal also.

When i first tried to disconnect it, it was tight. had to use a bit of force to force it out. Idk if it was corrosion that cause the bond to be tight but after i cleaned it as best as possible, it slid right in and out. (
didnt even thought about using a plier but i woulda been hesitant of messing somethign up knowing my luck.
I did the zipties tho, sounds ghetto but it's on tight now lol. hopefully it stays

Mien is 4wd. i replaced the starter a few months ago so i was banking it's not that and loose/corroded connections. I was able to reach the yellow wire by just removing the skid.

No idea I did it like 3 years ago. Pull the brake light and just find the wire. I think it may have been green.
