By passes would be nice to have if you happen to submerge the intake. Would allow you to not hydrolock your motor and still draw air in.

The idea is that the valve stays closed until there is enough vacuum to open it. Vacuum created by a submerged air filter. The bypass is alway higher up in the intake track to avoid drawing water thru that...

AEM comes to mind for the bypass valve and there may be a few other brands out there. Just havent seen anyone other then aem.

I got the sleave/pre filter thing which is nice... but I can't imagine the puddle I went through was nearly high enough to suck in enough water with that on to bog the engine like it did and throw a code for a moment. A shield would be nice but I'd have to customize one.

I remember reading something about a bypass valve that made a lot of sense. It was put as if you were using a straw in a drink and ur mouth is the engine. straw completely submerged and you suck water in. Poke a bunch of holes in the straw and you get nothing. But tilt the straw sideway so only a portion of the straw is submerged and you can still suck up water even though the holes are above water level. So the bypass would only work real efficiently if the filter is compeltely submerged as opposed to heavily drenched. So I think the shield and bypass together would be the best way to go... i'll get to work haha

Re: What did you do to your WK today?

ok so i've been thinkin on experimenting on switches. I have never done it so i was curious and excited about seeing how it works and how to wire it.
I bought 1 switch to test drive...may wire it like jeepfreak but in green..hence the "alien light"

i am not sure of location tho. I know the left cubby hole by steering wheel but also took some other pics of locations
What do you guys think?

Yup cubby next to the steering wheel with the Steel Armadillo switch panel (what I have). The cup holders are by Acrylic Conceptions I believe.
