Bro... You're gonna destroy that front diff or at least mar the housing, It absolutely should not be that hard to remove!! This is one of those times I mentioned, take a step back, take a break and re-attack it with a calmer head. The most force you should need is moderate leverage force from a medium prybar between the shaft and the housing, should release the spring retaining clip and slide out. You've done this enough times already to be familiar with it (he said with a slight tone of sarcasm). Try pushing it in a bit and sort of wiggle it, sometimes you can get it to rest in another position that will be more willing to be extracted. Or just attach a recovery strap and give it hell, at this point why not, right? Don't pull your Jeep off the stands though, and if you do have a videographer standing by cuz I'll wanna see that!!

Yeah this is my fourth time doing this! I know how much force it required to go in so it ain't gonna be easy coming out for sure. That clip from the factory I think is too big and that's why it gets stuck. I'm thinking recovery straps is probably the only way to go. Is it just me or is it absolutely absurd that it takes this much force to take of a friggin cv joint?

I agree with these guys (I know I haven't done anything crazy like this) but I would hate for you to fix this problem and **** up and start another problem ya dig? Not worth it have a glass of water let your mind chill then slowly attack with a plan

To be honest right now I'm really chill. I know that it ain't gonna happen today so I'm done for the night. I know it's kinda extreme to pull it out with a car but that seems like the only logical way at this point to me ya know? I tried it hitting it with a sledge and rotating it for a good hour and it did not budge.

Then there may be a chance its jammed in the diff. You may need to take it apart to get it out

Yup, you could have dislocated the retaining clip when it went in so hard and now it may be jammed in the splines or lodged in the locating slots. You may have to pull the cover and dig in to the gears and investigate. Might not be a terrible idea anyway considering how many times it's been in and out with the issues it's had, be prepared though, you may discover something you won't like...

Re: What did you do to your WK today?

Hmmmm have been reading on the jeeps unlimited forums and a lot of the guys go thru the same problems I have. I guess it's just a byproduct of going wheeling....
