Re: What did you do to your WK today?

Plagued with a suspension clunk that happens when accelerating from stand, or breaking to halt (i.e when the front tilts suddenly up or down). No noise happens when going over a speed bump or when driving highway. This started right after changing the LCA bushes.

Tried everything to find where this is coming from, checked the callipers (no play in them, all bolts are tightened properly), may be a steering rack issue or a drive shaft problem (hope not!) but I doubt that given its only done 56k miles!

Will replace the LCA bushes again as only possible theory is one may be defective.

Also new SRT8 sways (front and rear) arrived

Sounds like the bushings are dry

Does it just happen once when accelerating and then once when you stop? Sort of an "on/off" situation? When you installed the LCA, did you tighten everything while the suspension was still hanging or was it resting on the ground in its natural position? It's possible the bushings are bound if you tightened it all in the air. Have you manually bounced each front corner to narrow down a location or symptom? @ 56k it's not likely a worn part yet, unless there's been a lot of hard miles. I'd start with releasing the torque on the bushings and re-torquing them with the Jeep resting on the suspension, give it a few bounces while the nuts are loose before you tighten it back up to let them relax in place.

Yup, it does feel like an on/off situation, just passed your comments onto the workshop manager - thanks a million will give the torque process you mentioned a try!
