Re: What did you do to your WK today?

A little research on the parking brake/video from the HU lead me to a to a < $5.00 fix. When the E-brake is on, the light is on. (Thought bubble) ...hmm, a switch!... I googled an alternative to the bypass thing, and I was right!
I connected the green parking brake wire from the HU to one side of a toggle switch and the ground to the other side. Switch off (when my wife is with me)=no video. Switch on=video!!
Crappy video. Moose was in the garage, and it's pretty dark with the door closed (even with the lights on).

Re: What did you do to your WK today?

Well crap! The video won't play.
It was just the default, "Hey, you can't watch videos...", me toggling the switch, and the video playing...

You need to remove the front driveshaft. Once that's out you can remove the two bolts on the starter. Then remove the bolts on the back of the starter that bolt the cables to the starter. You can then wiggle it out.

Yea that's all I was wondering. I don't feel like messing with all of that having the family mechanic take care of it

Shhh.. but its not bad to unbolt it. Just make sure you have the driveshaft marked first. Learned that the fun way!
