Because pulling the shaft doesn't disable the tcase. It creates an "open" inside the tcase. Best way is what Justin said. Disable the tcase by pulling the motor from it

Not on one with our tc's. When the Fd is removed the actuator will essentially put the TC in rwd

you have a different tcase then the srt bro, its not a two speed transfer like yours. its the single speed one that comes in the Laredo 4x4. (really its just awd)

the srt has the MD146 SRT (acc. to wkjeeps) which is basically a beefed up version of the NV140

I get that. BUT, its hard on the clutches. again when you remove the front shaft it creates a path of least resistance forcing the tcase into rwd mode. that is hard on it, its the differential in speeds at the front and rear of the transfer that burns them out. when the shaft is in and it is operating in rwd mode, you still have the same speed on both sides of the tcase versus no shaft and the front side not spinning where as the rear side is...

the other issue is this, when the system detects the difference in speed from front to rear, its gonna try to go into 4x4 mode. this is why pulling the tcase motor is the better way to do it. it fully prevents it from trying to engage the front axle

Ok guys. What is your stance on the 5.7 mds. I have been reading after people disable it their jeeps are different animals. No more slugging around. More responsiveness and the same milage when they had it active. Input?
