This confirms that it's really your bushings that's killed your alignment. Odd how the shop didn't catch that. Now if I go lower then yes I'd need camber corrected upper control arms. (Yes they exist on the jeeps)

I'm also on 20's so that excuse is point less.

What did you do to your WK today?

Its only cracked he said

Ill take a pic of the alignment charts they gave me later. I try to learn as a I go but im not liking the sound of "cracked" bushings lol
I would eventually try to get this fixed, just now im in a mid of a career change and $$ is not on my side

I feel like this mechanic guy doesn't really know what he's saying. Is that sheet after alignment? If so he should have been able to get the toe down to .00 I don't see why he would leave it past the suggested range. First off the rims aren't gonna affect your alignment. Are you 4wd? On the repair order you said it say front diff bushings... If your 2wd you don't have a front diff. If your 4wd the front diff bushings have no effect on alignment anyways. And caster on our jeep is adjusted by moving the rear of the lower control arm and camber by moving both ends of the control arm. I've had to tell a tech atleast twice this is the way to adjust camber and caster on the jeep. Now if your upper control arm bushings are completely fried (take a pic of these if you can, also not likely if it steers well and doesn't clunk) then a whole new upper control arm runs about 40 bucks. It has 3 bolts on it. So 2 control arms ($80) plus maybe an hour and half for labor at the most to remove 6 bolts and two wheels should not add up to 500 bucks. You don't need a camber and caster kit as your setup is what the SRTs come with stock from the factory. Alignments are the only time I take my jeep to the shop and I'm looking into doing them myself now, just can't trust the techs at my local tire shops.

Re: What did you do to your WK today?

yea im 4wd

yea the mechanic just suggested the camber and caster kits, also said those may not solve my probs.

Its just the cracked bushing thats got me worried, but to confirm its safe to drive normally as i dont notice any steering or clunking sounds?

It may be a stupid question but where exactly is the bushing? by the diff?

Weather been a bit shitty this week so when i find a chance to do it ill take a pic

He is talking about the control arm bushings. There are two on both the upper and lower arms.

The tops won't be as obvious as the lower arm would be. Just look at where the control arms mount up at, the bushings are there.

Edit: there is the third bushing on the lower arm where the strut mounts up at. That's the most easily seen one

I'd say it's safe bro. If it was bad you would definitely feel it. I'll try to get a pic of my uca bushings so you know where it's at

What did you do to your WK today?

Used the Hypertech I bought from Madanio (thanks bro) and set my correct tire diameter today. Finally shifts properly again and the ESP has calmed way down, not as calm as stock but far better than it was. Also put the premium fuel tune in it, not sure if it's as big a gain as they advertise, but throttle response does feel better. Could just be that the trans is back in spec now so it feels better all around. When I have more time I'll set the tune back to stock and see how it is with just the tire diameter corrected.
