I guess a coil. I've had coils go really randomly. Last summer I was towing my jet skis and all of a sudden started running rough and check engine light. Cylinder misfire. Changed coil and plug all good.

There ya go man, all is well again. Coil packs can be finicky and go at random times, if that water got into the connection the short could've burnt it out too. You can find a new set on Amazon for a pretty decent price just to keep on hand so the next time something like this happens you can go through and find the failed unit and replace it. No need to replace all of them yet. Have you changed your plugs yet? No real danger of damage driving like that temporarily.
