What did you do to your WK today?

Another forum I am on does this, its great for the little nothings not worthy of a new thread. Its a confidence booster for your WK to let it know even the little things are important... oil change, de-badging, painting bits and pieces, repairs, the fact that you finally got to drive it...

Ill start:

- considering I made all of 2.1 hrs for the 6.5 hrs I was at work, I pulled the grand in, pulled the front end off and rerouted my HID relay harnesses for my fogs and headlamps. When I initially installed them I was slamming them in with no time to worry about wire routing or ballast mounting.
-Checked all my fluids to make sure all was still good considering the open heart surgery done to her a couple months back, all checked out good other than what looks like a slight coolant leak from my radiator end tank.
-dusted her exterior and shined the tires (she got a bath last night but it sprinkled on the way home)
-Installed a steel skid plate!
-Saturday I pulled off my steering wheel to resolve my squeeking clockspring and clicking turn signal cancelor cam, In a moment of NON-thinking I spritzed the clockspring with some spray lube, good news... it is quiet... bad news, I had a "check electric brake system" message in the evic and the traction control light on following. Quickly hooking up the witech I found I had an "internal scm failure". 2 days of driving later it went off and hasnt come back (phew)

Yes. There is a turn down kit that turns the exhaust down and the tips are a smaller diameter to clear the hitch. I think just4jeeps.com have em

Took off my front bumper to get at my headlights. Baking the last one again since the stripping is still holding the clips on sadly. But a few minor cracks around the edges when i rushed a little is all the damage i suffered. Cant wait to sand and paint tomorrow!

question. For those that installed a pioneer unit along with the help of the RP4-CH11. Any issues with the steering wheel buttons? My middle left (present) button isn't 100%. I tried to reset to defaults which it had been and no luck. I spoke with the company I ordered it from on ebay and they are willing to replace interface or refund my money. I spoke with Pac T.S. who also walked me through reseting and it's still not 100%. T.S. said it could be an issue with the communicating with the interface. I asked about a replacement, and he felt it wouldn't help. He did suggest perhaps another company would be better, wouldn't mention the name. But I mentioned to him that my z130bt came with a scosche interface (missing the swc module) and he said that's the company. I have looked around to see about ordering just the swc that comes with the scosche s3-1 interface, and I just come up with generic swc controllers. I would prefer no extra splicing just like the RP4-CH11 one is, and the S3-1 would be also.
Anyone experiencing this issue with the RP4-CH11? Or have experience with other swc controllers?
I can't wait to get this all wrapped up so I can put my radio bezel back on. I've been without it a few weeks now, as 1 clip got a little weird, and I don't want to snap it. I also received my upper and lower switch panels back from diobolo with replacement bulbs, and that looks great. Quick turn around, really nice guy.
I also added a little thump in my trunk. Kicker L7 10 in a ported box being powered by an audiobahn 800.2 amp that I had running 2 audiobahn 12s in my WJ

Currently stuck in Target Parking lot. Jeep not starting. I keep up with the maintenance so I know that's not an issue. New battery so that's def not the cause. Got a transmission over temperature warning. Googled the symptoms and came up on a good link.

"My fix was replacing the starter and starter wiring harness. According to the dealer the starter and wiring harness is located in such an area where water from rain runs down in it. Eventually this causes the problem with that light coming on and the vehicle not starting. I had the work done in the summer and have not had issues since. "

txted ya Paul!

same exact crap happened to me a few weeks ago...helped move some crap outta storage and park infront of a hydrant. When done, tried to start it up and no click. Tried to jumpstart and didnt work, so crawl under the jeep and used a rod to poke at the starter connections and started right up.

Disc the starter wires and make it as tight as possible.

Nine times out of ten in this situation, especially after starter replacement, the issue is a loose signal wire to the starter from the ignition switch. I had it happen a few times till i crawled uper it and double checked the connections. Haven't had a issue since.

I've decided after much debate that I'm going to keep my current Jeep. I almost pulled the trigger on a SRT but I nearly have my 05 paid off. I've put a lot of work into it so I might as well keep it going. Plus I'm wanting to take the plunge and buy my girl a ring.

np bro! was taking up space anyways

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, ended up having it towed to my house. My dad just replaced the battery and its been good ever since. Mine didn't click at all, the lights on the interior freaked out and kept flickering. Also had to use the key to open it. Fob wouldn't unlock it. You think i may have the same problem in the near future? Because i didn't mess with the starter or anything, just the battery

Were you on your stock battery? Mine lasted about 4ish years

For me it was either the battery, starter, or igntion switch.
I replaced my battery a year ago so i ruled that out. Also replaced my starter a few months ago so doubt it was that..(knowing my luck it could have been lol)

I was about to mess with the ignition switch but decided to mess with the starter 1 more time. Crawled underneath and use a long rod to poke at the pigtails. The yellow pigtail (either corrosion or loose connection) are known for most of the wk starter issues. Plus the crappy location doesnt help. When it happened i was able to hit up Scott and Matt for tips so i was lucky. If you know where your starter is, you know what im talking about but...for a first timer like myself, i suggest crawlign underneath and taking a look so if it happens next time, you know how to diagnose.

I was pissed worried lol. I was debating either to get it towed at 11pm or leave it parked(hydrant) and get a ticket in the morning lol

Anyone know how to replace this axle shaft seal? From axle shaft to cv joint

Sent from my iPhone using JeepGarage
Yeah. Your gonna need to pull the axle shaft out to be able to reach it and to install the new on correctly. Should just pull out and the new one GENTLY presses into place
