What did you do to your WK today?

Another forum I am on does this, its great for the little nothings not worthy of a new thread. Its a confidence booster for your WK to let it know even the little things are important... oil change, de-badging, painting bits and pieces, repairs, the fact that you finally got to drive it...

Ill start:

- considering I made all of 2.1 hrs for the 6.5 hrs I was at work, I pulled the grand in, pulled the front end off and rerouted my HID relay harnesses for my fogs and headlamps. When I initially installed them I was slamming them in with no time to worry about wire routing or ballast mounting.
-Checked all my fluids to make sure all was still good considering the open heart surgery done to her a couple months back, all checked out good other than what looks like a slight coolant leak from my radiator end tank.
-dusted her exterior and shined the tires (she got a bath last night but it sprinkled on the way home)
-Installed a steel skid plate!
-Saturday I pulled off my steering wheel to resolve my squeeking clockspring and clicking turn signal cancelor cam, In a moment of NON-thinking I spritzed the clockspring with some spray lube, good news... it is quiet... bad news, I had a "check electric brake system" message in the evic and the traction control light on following. Quickly hooking up the witech I found I had an "internal scm failure". 2 days of driving later it went off and hasnt come back (phew)

Suspension/Steering work complete!

1) Replaced all Front end Bushing with Moog, suspension clunk went away. It must have been dodgy ones I got (Raybestos/Acdelco).

2) Replaced OEM Tie rod ends with Moog problem solvers

3) Upgraded front and rear Sway bars for SRT8 ones. The difference around corners really improved, ride is more stable and less body roll, very impressed with this mod ! Steering feels more precise, I guess this is also down to the better tie rod ends too.

4) Sand blasted JBA UCA's and powder coated black

Thanks, bro!

I STILL don't know what to do. Well, I *can't* do anything w/o the $$ from the ins co (and having them pay off the loan on Truck Norris).

I've lost sleep for 2 nights think about the Commander, and wondering what's wrong with it... The dealer is 27 miles away, but that's an hour and a half ride!!
My gut is saying "no"...

My wife says, "if it's gonna ride like a Jeep, just get a wrangler!" Those things are DAMN expensive, and pre 2006 there aren't any headrests in the back. I looked, and you can get replacement seats for like $300.

I loved my WK, by wife doesn't..... "It rides like a jeep..." (Whaaaa!! -insert eye roll!!!).

I'm still looking. I saw an 07 (I think) SRT8 for less than 20k, but it had 150k plus miles on it. I keep my cars (unless the insurance company screws me out of em!) for a long time. I think I'm looking lo miles. It's just NOT an easy decision, dammit!!

Commander? As for the wranglers, the TJ (97-06) and YJ (87-95) are similarly equipped. YJ is leaf sprung, whereas the TJ is coils so it rides and drives a ton nicer. Obviously the interiors and amenities progressed with time so the TJ will have more creature comforts, airbags, etc... As for the back seat not having headrests, as a former YJ and TJ owner, and avid lover of wranglers, I say to that, "what back seat?!" The rear rumble seat isn't much for personnel transpo, it'll do the job but if you're wanting to use it often for kids or something I'd recommend against it. They are crazy expensive and desirable, I sold both of mine for a hefty profit after building them, unless you're able to find a stock one for cheap and build yourself, it's gonna cost ya. The JK's are more family/passenger friendly and have far superior safety features, modern amenities, creature comforts, etc... But same logic applies, they carry a nice price tag. You've got a tough call to make man, just drive a bunch and see what you like...

It's 4-door, X, Unlimited w/36k on it (2009). It's no WK, but it's fun AND convertible!! NOT today, tho. It's damn 40', and it snowed in the mountains last night!! Not a lot; just a dusting.

I know I don't have the WK any more, but I feel like this is where I belong...

I got floor mats today. If you can't tell, they're rubber, with tire treads! They ROCK!!

Buy another!
