Another forum I am on does this, its great for the little nothings not worthy of a new thread. Its a confidence booster for your WK to let it know even the little things are important... oil change, de-badging, painting bits and pieces, repairs, the fact that you finally got to drive it...
Ill start:
- considering I made all of 2.1 hrs for the 6.5 hrs I was at work, I pulled the grand in, pulled the front end off and rerouted my HID relay harnesses for my fogs and headlamps. When I initially installed them I was slamming them in with no time to worry about wire routing or ballast mounting.
-Checked all my fluids to make sure all was still good considering the open heart surgery done to her a couple months back, all checked out good other than what looks like a slight coolant leak from my radiator end tank.
-dusted her exterior and shined the tires (she got a bath last night but it sprinkled on the way home)
-Installed a steel skid plate!
-Saturday I pulled off my steering wheel to resolve my squeeking clockspring and clicking turn signal cancelor cam, In a moment of NON-thinking I spritzed the clockspring with some spray lube, good news... it is quiet... bad news, I had a "check electric brake system" message in the evic and the traction control light on following. Quickly hooking up the witech I found I had an "internal scm failure". 2 days of driving later it went off and hasnt come back (phew)
Had another 'episode' with the $tealer today, I got a call regarding the P73 recall, as the 4WD light was on and couldn't use the QDII system for some time now. Dealer claimed they only cover software updates and not parts. Was told after the flash that the error code was still present (C140F), and that the 4WD will not work without changing the Transfer Case Motor ($545 !!). So I politely asked for my keys back and told them what I thought of them.. got in the truck, put it in neutral and tried the 4WD system. To their 'surprise', vehicle went into 4WD low , no issues, no warning lights ..
moral of the story ... there is no morals !
I read a few threads on the N23 and the P73 recalls .. seems like Chrysler did a right mess of all this, trying to push cost onto the customer for THEM not building the right components/software in the first place ..
Took it to inquire on a trade in and she literally pissed on my shoe! As I pulled into the dealer the power steering got stiff and when I popped the hood the pump dumped its contents. I think she's being a bit dramatic I was only curious.....
my third one has issues she comes on in a blue moon then shuts off again for months. over it. hope everyone is great the baby is almost here so hopefully i can start modding my rig again soon! have a blessed week
The '05-'07 have the black nozzle, indicating the first gen of that part. One of the solder joints to the pcb fails after some time of pounding around on the gate. Mine hadn't worked for years, only occasionally as Alex described, I took it apart one day and found the issue, problem is that it's a sealed unit. I cut the back cover off of the lens and manufactured my own assembly using red 5050 smd's. Laid the new assembly into the housing, swapped the harness plug out for one more durable and better suited for the abuse, then resealed the back cover onto the lens housing. I had read of many issues even with the 2nd gen (red nozzle) not lasting, so instead of purchasing the replacement, I just over engineered a simple solution. It's been a few years and multiple hunting seasons, which translates to ungodly off-road abuse, and it's still functioning as well as the day I put it together. Long winded reply, I know, but wanted to be thorough in case either of you or anyone else decided to remedy the problem themselves instead of spending the cash on a replacement that will inevitably eventually fail.
Took my 2008 JGC limited in for 2 recalls and mentioned the tsb on my 15 srt for the oil dipstick and the rotors without the grooves and he had the rotors in stock and ordered the dipstick without the car being there and made an appointment for tomorrow. Thats why i stick with the same dealer, i get great service!
Not today, technically, but day before.
BlackHawk Badge. Removed L A R E D O.
Next is 3 mods at the same time.
Real lower fascia with dual exhaust cutouts.
Located a "suitcase back" hemi dual exhaust. May change the muffler though.
Mopar Trailer hitch receiver and 7+4 electrical connector.
About a month from now. Patience..... paaaaatience.... Sorry. Talking to myself again.
Yes I know it's not a WK, but I still wanted to share.
I installed a Rubicon Express 2" lift and Rancho RS9000XL, 9-position adjustable shocks. It took 3.5 hours start to finish. And I can *still* only upload one picture at a time....
Exactly right! A friend already wants me to do his (shoulda done HIS first as practice!)
The right was easier than the left b/c I already knew what to disconnect to lower the axle!
A real sense of accomplishment!! I feel good about it.
