What do you carry with you?

Want to see what you off-road guys (or anyone for that matter) carry with you, whether it be on a daily basis or on long trips. Tools, gear, compressors or other goodies, let's see your setup

Re: What do you carry with you?

Is that a wood handle? I'll carry my Kershaw on a daily basis.

I'm currently switching up from a street jeep to a more off-road friendly setup. Thinking about doing a false bottom in my cargo area or possibly a drawer setup, but wanted to see what everyone else was running.

nah, wish it was wood handled. a drawer setup would be cool to have. I don't have much I can do with mine with my current audio setup in the back. I have thought about locking bins tho

Re: What do you carry with you?

I'm not a "serious offroader", however I take my WK on the beach, a lot.

Typical daily driving I always carry;
Small tool set. Pliers, Flat & Phillips Screwdriver, Adjustable Wrench, Knife & duct tape. Just in case something minor happens, I'm at least kinda prepared.
Flash light with emergency strobe.
4 Ratchet Straps
Gloves
Cargo Net
Toilet Paper (This is a must if you do any long road trips.....)
Back-Up Tom-Tom Nav (It's small enough and hey, you never know if my stock one dies for some reason)
Heavy Duty Black Garbage Bags (about 10, if you litter, **** you)
2X Tow Straps
Torque Wrench & Socket for Wheels
Halogen Work Light (Small & Portable hand held) that plugs into my factory Power Invertor
Tire Deflator & Compressor in-case the opportunity to go off road arises on a whim.
Bug Spray

If I'm headed to the beach I carry all the above plus;
(2) 12"x24" Pieced of Plywood - Used as jack stand or to help get unstuck
Shovel
Portable Toilet & Bathroom Pop-Up Tent
Table & Grill
Beach Chairs, Umbrella, Pop-Up Canopy
5 Gal. Solar Shower
2 Coolers - 1 With Booze, Water & Other Drinks & 1 for just food.

I think that's it, there are probably a few minor odd's and ends I am forgetting.

Good day @ The beach seen here (Mine is the silver WK) - imgur: the simple image sharer

Bad day at the beach seen here, no worries, she is all better. This was before my recovery points & I didn't air down, my fault. She popped right back together, no damage! - imgur: the simple image sharer

Re: What do you carry with you?

Above is good start.

Add:
> Basic tool kit
> Water (10 liters/2.5 gallons in a MSR water bag)
> S&W Model 60, .357 mag. or similar
> Maps for 2 reasons: (1) Ever try to evaluate alternative road trip routes using your nav system? (2) Backup to nav system.

I'm fortunate to live in a place that's both very low crime and respects my right to defend myself and family with a firearm. I choose to do so. Your decision may vary, and/or your authorities may not allow self defense w/ a firearm. The police around here generally protect society, but do not do personal protection - that's my responsibility. For similar reasons I have smoke/CO detectors, fire extinguishers, door locks, home security, spare tires, first aid kits and a box'o tools.

YMMV

Re: What do you carry with you?

I take water, a jack, jack stands, ratchet and socket set, basic tools, and most importantly a shovel. I can't even tell you how important a shovel and a jack is.
