I didn't notice any improvements on mpg but since the cai and exhaust are new too I've had a heavy foot.. But u definitely feel more performance

How was the install? I'm looking at the same magnaflow muffler you have.

I have yet to find a tuner for the 4.7 what kind of performance/mpg improvement did you get out of it?
Im running Superchips 91 perf tune w/trans app. I have the K&N CAI as well I know what you mean it gives you a nice growl without an exhaust. Superchips really makes my gen 2 4.7 run well. Nice upgrade.

I literally just ordered my superchips tuner from kolak!!! You find the 91 tune is better than the 87 running 89?

Re: 05 wk 4.7l exhaust question

I never tried the 87 tune I went for the top dawg.lol One thing I do recommend is the opt trans app for 40bucks. I wanted the most performance I could get. I don't drive that many miles a year so I wasn't worried about the MPG's. Try the 87 tune for a while then switch to the 91 tune and see how you like it. When the time comes for exhaust Im just going to swap out the muffler with the biggest magnaflow they have so its not to loud. good luck!

What exactly does that app do? I heard people talking about it but never did the research!

Re: 05 wk 4.7l exhaust question

It lets you tweak the tranny up/down shift to get better performance out of the tranny or you can use superchip preloaded shift point which is what I did. Unless you have the expertise to mess with the up/down shifts schedule your better off just using superchips own schedule. There are plenty of threads on adjusting the shift points yourself if you want to search. Once you update your tuner to your jeep it will be available on the superchip update site but you have to update it first.

I thought the superchips trans shift points came with the tuner, no need for the add-on. I run the 87 with superchips shift points. I've tried to 91 a few times but don't see much difference in city driving MPG. Highway with the 91 gets a good boost that the 87 doesn't.

It does optimize the shift points somewhat with the various tunes but when you download the trans app it brings it to a whole new level. I used the Superchip trans app but if you adjust the up/down shifts yourself(which I couldn't do myself) from what I have seen on various threads you can make it perform even better. It shifts quicker with the trans app as well. Well worth the 40 buck IMO.
