Post 2009 5.7L Hemi - Suggestions for Better Fuel Economy??

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get better Fuel Economy in my 2009 WK 5.7L Hemi. I only average about 14 MPG right now... sticker said 17-21 when I bought it... so not true. I am very open to any suggestions anyone may have... or have tried. Thanks!

Re: 2009 5.7L Hemi - Suggestions for Better Fuel Economy??

Clean your throttle body (you will be amazed what is inside and on the blade); VERY light alcohol and clean towel as we have electronic TB's
Do the TB ground mod (idk if this helps mpg's, but it def helped TB responsiveness)
Seafoam your intake and fuel system
Get a catch can

Those three things (TB ground idk) really helped me when mine started to get into the low teen's around town, now i'm back to my 14.5-16...and 19.5-21 on the highway (but I do have a 2wd so that helps)

Also check your PCV valve; I have not done anything to mine but I have heard that can be a possible culprit too

What is the throttle body ground mod? I tried a search but didn't find this info.

This was in Omelet's Build Thread:
In case anyone cares, this is how I routed my TB ground wire. I used the lower driver side bolt and ran the wire up the back of the TB, then along the wire harness to the fender.

How many miles did you have on the GC when you did the cleanup?

The TB doesn't have enough good metal contact to ground it. When you properly ground it, it operates much better and is way more responsive
