3.7 Gibson or Magnaflow?

My 3.7 is a disappointment when it comes to power and sound. Frankly, it sounds like a moped... Which one would produce the best sound as a catback?

Re: 3.7 Gibson or Magnaflow?

Neither, both will just generate more noise, not HP. The 3.7 is not a very good motor to begin with compared to any other modern V6, but on the other hand, it gets better mpg and is lighter weight and handles better than the V8s.

Re: 3.7 Gibson or Magnaflow?

So by no means will either enhance sound or power??? Then what is the point of an exhaust???

Re: 3.7 Gibson or Magnaflow?

The 3.7 is not exactly Pro-Mod motor material, but reacts well to mods.

I think the Magnaflow is the better of the two.

Re: 3.7 Gibson or Magnaflow?

So your saying that you wouldn't add any exhaust if the choice was yours but if you had to you'd pick the magnaflow?

If it were my own vehicle I'd pick the magnaflow.

The 2007+ 3.7 crowd is probably what keeps me busiest aside from doing work on Hemi's.

Re: 3.7 Gibson or Magnaflow?

For the cost of the catback, you could upgrade the suspension, which is a far better use of money, and will greatly enhance driving as the stock WK susp. is crap. Putting on some noisy exhaust will sound cool at first, but the noise and drone will get to you shortly after that. I got rid of my Magnaflow after 6 months and went back to stock; best unmod ever.

Re: 3.7 Gibson or Magnaflow?

I couldn't care less about the stock suspension. I have no probs with it besides that it creaks a bit in the cold... I think im a going to go with the magnaflow...
