Re: 3.7l performance love

I hear ya bro.. I was mod-less for a couple of years, but just recently got the mod-bug again. Once I get the Fastman TB and Hypertech tuner I'm done again for a while.

Re: 3.7l performance love

Can anyone with knowledge on tuners/programmers shed some light on what the major differences are between these two models?

http://www.autoanything.com/performa...A3729A0A0.aspx

http://www.autoanything.com/performa...0A2166906.aspx

It seems like with the Max Energy Programmer the only things that could be changed were premium fuel, rev limit, top speed limit, fan adjustment.

Do I need the Max Energy, or should I try and save a few bucks with buying the Econ version?

Re: 3.7l performance love

I assume it all depends on what you're going for. Better performance or better eco. I'd call hypertech themselves for the best explanation.

The fact that they have a completely seperate tuner for better eco is retarded. If you waited for diablo sport I'm sure the customer tuner could write you a performance tune and a pure economy tune. Requardless, you should see increased eco with a tuner

Thanks man, that's what I figured.. I actually just received a response from Hypertech.

You’ll want the 52501 Max Energy it has a lot more options and there is very little cost difference. The Econ version 53501 has one option only which is our tuning for regular octane fuel to help increase power and to help mileage. The 52501 has the same regular octane tuning plus our tuning for premium, if the premium option is used you’ll need to use no less than 91 octane. You get a little more power out of the premium tuning as compared to the regular setting.

Re: 3.7l performance love

There response is above.

Basically the econ just offers a tune for regular fuel and to read codes, while the max performance adds the premium tune option as well as a few other things such as a fan cooling option, rev limit and speedometer options for non stock tire/wheel sizes. The price difference is only $30 between the two.

Re: 3.7l performance love

Gotchya, seeing that line I thought it was your sig and read right over it haha

Yeah, if I had to choose, the max energy is the one I'd go with. Did you ask about where they got the hp/tq for that liberty? Since we have the same engine those numbers appear wrong

I didn't ask him and probably would get an answer like "that's what we dyno'd it at". I figure I will test it out for a few weeks and return it if I do not notice any tangible results. There is a 15% re-stocking fee with autoanything, and I received a 10% discount so it will only cost me $20 or so to test it out and send it back if I don't like it.

I don't think so either.

I will post results once tested.

Sorry for not answering this sooner. Saw it but forgot to reply.

I think for your purposes the Hypertech will be fine. I really do wish Diablo would get support for these going though...

Thanks Ryan, I appreciate your input.

So do I, but I'm too impatient to wait. But if I don't notice any significant improvements with the Hypertech tuner I'll most likely return it and wait to see what Diablo has to offer.
