I am also working a list of exhaust specific parts garranteed to work in the 3.7 WK!

No bro. If I ran my motor without tuning it at part throttle it would be knocking all over the place and throw a rod off the side of the block or atleast burn up a valve. Part throttle tuning is necessary. Your motor isn't at wot all the time. Part throttle tuning is the precursor to dyno tuning. If it ain't even close at part throttle it's gonna be way off on the dyno.

I never said anything about no part thottle tuning bro. I said you tune for efficiency when your not going at wot. Your not gonna be tuning for wot at part throttle.

Re: 3.7l performance love

Hey, guy's.

I just got a brilliant idea that could help you guys with an 05-07 3.7...

What if, okay hear me out, you guys ditch the stock fan for the electric one found in the o8 and up 3.7's.

It could potentially free up some torque by not having that heavy fan/fan clutch spinning there on the water pump. And you could splice the fan controls together to make it kick on when it needs too!

well uhh....this is embarrassing lol.

turns out that this idea could only work in a 01-04 liberty as they have a fan clutch system

Re: 3.7l performance love

Here's he cam specs of our cams if ya'll wondering....

Intake opens-5.4* ATDC
Intake closes-240.1* ATDC
Intake duration-245.7*

Exhaust opens-241.5* BTDC
Exhaust closes-20.1* ATDC
Exhaust duration-261.6*

Valve Overlap-25.7*
LSA-114

Lift:

intake and exhaust are both .472in

so basically if our cams were aftermarket it would read something like..

Duration: 245/261
Lift: .472/472
LSA: 114

I don't think we could really go too much more aggressive then this due to valve clearance issues. biggest I say we could go in a custom grind would be something like

255/275 with .485/.485 lift on a 112 lsa.

thoses specs would lope hard and have a wide power band

Re: 3.7l performance love

when my jeep was tuned some 2 yrs ago all my logging was done
driving on the street using this..

plx kiwi bluetooth paired up to the "torque app"
in the google play store.

then i would send the file over to the person tunning
which will then send me a tune that i would load onto
my sct handheld that i would connect to the jeep
and make the programming happen

i first had my wk on the 87 octane tune until 91 octane tune
was reached. after many logs sent many tune files received
and hundreds of emails back and forth my jeep is one tiny tough wk.

lol
