Re: 3.7l performance love

I have a 2008 wk 3.7, had a Rusty's off-road set of coils installed along with new front struts. Put 2" wheel spacers on... Painted wheels black, and installed new bullet style lug nuts, how do I post a picture from my phone? I would love to do some performance upgrades!!

When you reply, there is an "attachments" button. From there you can add pics.

Re: 3.7l performance love

My 08 wk... 3.7 magnaflow, Rusty's off-road lift, 2" wheel spacers, painted stock wheels black, currently 255/70/17 hankook daynapro ATM rf10 tires, and the camp on sides as been removed, due to a crease in the vinyl that I am too picky to look at anymore, I am thinking it will probably be replaced with flat black. I know the 4.7 is basically a 3.7 with another pair of cylinders added anyone heard of someone swapping the 6 for the 8?

You could do that....but you'll need the transmission (possibly) since the 4.7 uses the 545 while we have the srt transmission behind the 3.7. You'd also need motor mounts, harness and pcm/tcm

The nag (3.7 and 6.1) trans will bolt up to the 4.7. Trying to swap in a 545rfe will wreck havoc on the computer system, and if you were able to swap in a PCM/tcm from a 4.7 your front drive control module would go ballistic. If you keep your transmission you would have no way to control your engine. In short, don't do this. It WILL be a mess. Would be much more cost effective to trade it in for a 4.7. It's just not worth it for a 4.7 it won't make much more power than a 3.7, if you want to do a swap atleast go for a hemi (5.7 or 6.1), which is a route that Alex and I have considered marginally possible. Check out StrongJeffs build thread with his mods, his 3.7 will easily make more power than the 4.7 any day of the week.

I agree with this im not engine smart but ive researched along with Jeff and Josh and the best bang for buck would be a 6.1. Thats just me though good luck! Jeff pulls harder than most 4.7s so im sure you can get some ideas from his thread like I have in the past years.

Not most. Every 4.7 I've ran against I've pulled up top. Off the line they got me....after 65-70 they mine lol. I've raced a small handful of em...maybe 4 or 5

Re: 3.7l performance love

I did not know the 3.7 had the set transmission behind it.
