Re: 3.7l performance love

It looks like in the near future we will be experimenting with 3.7 Intake Manifold porting as well.

http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=27709

That particular thread is particularly for 2007-2010 3.7s but if demand and results warrant it I will look into the earlier manifolds as well.

Im also now doing a taper-ported TB for the 2007+ crowd that is 67mm in the front and 69mm in the back. Im the only vendor who enlarges the back-side of these TBs.

There is 2 guys over at JF that have the jba headers. One is an XK and one is a WK.

The earlier years if anything have the most to gain because the tuning support is there. If someone wants to step up, buy a manifold (they are about 110 shipped to me in FL), and be the guinea pig, I will do it. For whoever takes the plunge first, I will do it for my cost to obtain a manifold shipped to me, shipping to you after porting, and a little extra for my time.

It appears this works for the WK then. Hmm I will probably be getting a set after I send my intake manifold to Ryan. Found them on Ebay for a decent price I think for any of you that may be interested.

Re: 3.7l performance love

So someone does have the jba's on a wk? Looks like it from other thread. Thats good to hear, seems like the passenger side is a pita as expected Would have been much easier to do when I did the strut install, but ahh well, guess I have new mod to save some $ for

Anyway, the most I could see getting into this 3.7 performance wise would be:

HF Intake Tube/Filter
Intake/TB Port Job
JBA Shortys + Full Exhaust
UD Pulley (if you dont have bumpin' system of course)
SCT Tuner to really take advantage of new flow

Should net some nice gains overall to liven this thing up a tad and give it a nice little xost note

I agree. The 3.7/4.7 are essentially the same motors, and they like flow. They will never be torque monsters by design. By taking advantage of the OHC design along with reducing parasitic losses (i.e. UD Pulley), you can have stock or improved low end response, and really take advantage of the engines nature by design.
