I see a lot about "Garrett" turbos

Serious question. If I did pull the trigger on something like this, could I see an increase in gas mileage? If I babied it obviously for this hypothetical question
-increase in torque would make the engine have to work less to pull the jeep which would in turn make for better efficiency? Right?

yes, a turbo setup properly tuned will increase gas mileage aslong as you can keep your foot out of it (but thats no fun)

Re: 3.7l performance love

If your worried about mpg just get some bolt ons and tune. Once you boost it you wont keep your foot out of it. lol Hell, you might not keep your foot out of it after the bolt ons.

Re: 3.7l performance love

And I'm meaning, when I decide to cruise will I see better mpgs. I'm looking at 15-16 city 26 highway right now with everything I've done.

I can only assume the answer is yes. Consideing that I would then be adding custom exhaust, turbo, and then custom tuning

Re: 3.7l performance love

I wish I could get 26hwy. I'm getting 17-18mpg average with 80% highway driving (70mph).

I'm completely stock.

Re: 3.7l performance love

Thats me cruising with some hilly highways going a steady 60mpg. At 70 i see like 23.5-24

I never saw that bad highway mpg tho... Might be time for a tune up. Plugs, switch to synthetic oil or blend. And transmission tune up.

Re: 3.7l performance love

I got the SS headers. I'll have pics and updates on everything as soon as they get in.

BTW... Anyone know how restrictive the stock Y-Pipe is on the 3.7? Thanks!

If you look ay your y pipe, the restrictions are gunna come from where the drivers side pipe come around to the passenger side. the pipe is all crappy crush bends and not smooth at all. a custom y pipe or maybe the magnaflow y pipe might do good. but idk if worth the money on a NA small NA engine.
