Re: 3.7l performance love

LOL, i did mine back in april at a buddies house. you will need a second pair of hands to assist you. the hardest part for me was getting the bolts+gasket to line up to the holes in the head

Re: 3.7l performance love

Off the topic of headers, I'm the second truck that Ryan is tuning and the results have been positive so far. Much better pull in the higher rev ranges and disabling the torque management has helped a bit off the line as well.

Re: 3.7l performance love

Trying to figure things out. Hypertech website says that the max energy programmer is available for the 08+ 3.7l wk. Is it true? I remember that it was only available for 05-07.

IMHO It would better serve people that do alot of driving in super hot conditions and for those who do alot of towing.
On the older JTEC PCM's like in your old Ram, at 85* C (185*) there is a switchover from one spark table to another. Below this threshold, the spark map is somewhat more aggressive. The catch here is that adding a 180 t stat alone won't keep it below 185 unless you're on the highway, etc.

It is set up differently on the 05-06 3.7s (and presumably later models too) however it is still a good idea to have for the sake of prevention of detonation if you are running any sort of tune.

Re: 3.7l performance love

back to the rubbing bracket on headers, banging the pipe slightly seems to me as acceptable solution.

rubbing has any negative functionality effect or just "rubbing" ?

(HUGE THANKS FOR THE PICS!)

the rubbing and how close it is the header has melted the rubber going unto the carrier, and it's caused my steering to feel a little "stiff", but other then that ive seen no other issue. headers been on now since april, and seen multiple high speed and track runs, so i think i will be ok
