Don't gotta bolt just bc you sold the jeep. I traded mine in a couple weeks ago but i still chime in on threads. Made some good connections on here and gained some knowledge that could be passed on to others

Picked up a 2012 Honda Civic EX

43 MPG highway! ha

I will probably chime in from time to time.

Definitly good connections here, and great people!

Sorry to hear you won't be around as often, but 43 MG's is hard to argue with. I hope to see you around sometime, and Happy Holidays.

Re: 3.7l performance love

I just wanted to add that I FINALLY had a day off yesterday to install the JBA headers Ive had laying around. Unlike Strongjeff documented, my set did not rub on steering shaft. I also did not remove starter, simply had to remove battery and move fuse boxes and wiring harnesses out of the way to get down to header bolts. Took them out from the top on both sides.

Passenger side was much easier as I just removed intake and moved few wires and they came out nicely from the top. Only real hassel was the bottom two bolts that mount the header to cat pipes. Had to cut them on the pass side due to rust which was headache but they eventually gave way.

All in all took me and spare hand about 8 hours total. Not a crazy hard job but you need fair bit of tools and time at your disposal to complete it.

As far as the project went, for $250 and a day Id honestly say it probably was NOT worth it, but I did it anyway and of course after the fact Im happy about it. Knowing what I know now, I may not have done it. However I did notice slightly better pedal response but this is probably due to the placebo effect. I'll report back after I get a custom tune and see how she really feels. If you find the headers cheap and have some time/experience Id say go for it, otherwise not worth it all seeing as a shop would probably charge $500+ just for the job.

Well mines a 08 and yours is an 05, so there may have been some changes made under the hood, i know some minor changes were done to the 3.7, like the DBW system. as far as the way you installed yours, i think it was good you didnt need to drop the starter. any way im not bashing you, but theres not placebo effect the headers for me, i picked up .2 of a sec in the 1/8 mile i had ran a 10.37 @68.38 mph after the install. before was like 10.56 @ 66-67 mph
