I got an idea. Would it be possible to adapt a challenger iat sensor to the 3.7? I need a pictures of both the 3.7 & 5.7 challenger iat's.

What would the benefit of the challengers be?

By puting the sensor deeper into the intake tube so it registers a colder temp

Re: 3.7l performance love

Couldn't you just use a power wire. doesn't that register a lower temperature? BTW love your performance mods especially your exhaust. would totally do that if I didn't have this damn surging problem for years that no one can figure out lol.

Do you have check engine light on for missing 2 of your o2 sensors? and how does the engine adapt around the 2 missing?

I have looked into the power wire but the challenger iat may be cheaper. I do have a cel for the missing o2 sensors but they are only for the emissions. The rear o2 sensors do not play a role in performance

Re: 3.7l performance love

I may pull the trigger on doing a boosted set up, its gonna take some time but I feel that forged 4.7 parts will work in the 3.7, and as far as a tune goes, I may go with a Motec stand alone ecu. im thinking a pair of garret turbochargers like a GT30, a GT30R or even GTX35 with a T3/T4 housing. the trans will need to be replaced with a sharadon stage 3 NAG1... should be good for 550 at the wheels @10-12psi

glad you love my exhaust too, some of my fellow soldiers like it too. even with some issues and a massive exhaust leak that I should be able to fix tomorrow (pinky sized hole in right header and the mid pipe bolts on that side commited suicide coming back from ft stewart over the thanksgiving weekend) she'll still pull to the 1** mph mark with ease. just ask the Saturn vue V6 I toasted coming thru the mountains lol

Re: 3.7l performance love

Ha! Really looking forward to your boosted setup. I have always wanted to do the same but I have a 90 integra to toy around with for speed now.

a good boosted setup will put me in srt territory. seen srts with 5-600 hp run low 4's to high 3's to 60. what im planning is about 550hp, and being 600 pounds lighter will do it... im in early early research stage now. im looking at 4.7 parts off of air rams website. low comp pistons for boost, scat H-beam rods which are rated for up to 18psi. the rods are slightly longer than stock 4.7 rods, but with 8.7:1 comp pistons I should be good on valve clearance. comp should be around 8.8/8.9:1 with the H-beam rods. if need be I can rewire the fuel pump to supply bigger injectors which I can easily get my hands on. mustang 4.6 ones will work as im currently running a 26# injector now. I believe I can get a standalone PCM from Motec. just need to research the site or call them.

if I don't do boost, then I may do a high comp all motor setup running over 10:1 comp. I may have on more engine project before korea.

Re: 3.7l performance love

What are you going to do about our plastic intake manifold? Could that hold up to the pressure?
