Re: 3.7l performance love

Hey Truck.Norris, what other mods are you wanting to do? I may be of some help with advice if you need it.

Re: 3.7l performance love

I'm not sure yet, Strongjeff. Maybe a tune of some sort. More bang for the buck -of stuff *I* can do. Not tear apart the engine or anything.

Well id do (best bang for the buck) sct tune, tb, and headers. These will make the biggest difference. The headers are a little higher on the difficulty scale but are doable for anyone with some basic wrenching skills. You will want a second pair of hands for them. The tb is the easiest to do and should only take about 10 mins. The tuner falls in the middle only cuz your messing with the pcm

TB is next. I have the coin. I just need to get to the bank. I've taken off my TB for cleaning. I'm pretty good with a wrench. In my last life I was an engineer....

How much would it cost me to upgrade my throttle body?

Dan does them new for 260. He did a used one for me off a wrecked o9 for 170 shipped. If you do new, he garrantees the tb. Used he does not. The cost of 260 covers a new factory tb which is 110, and the rest of the cost is for the work, tooling and shipping.

No difference becuase its a factory core. But would you like a new tb over a used one?

I never said that bro. Dan ports the stock cores. He enlarges the "barrel" and installs a larger throttle plate. This allows more airflow and this makez power. If I had to guess, its maybe 5 to 10 horsepower but the throttld response is improved. Its the throttle response that is the biggest benifit.
