Re: 4.7 Muffler -

I used to run Magnaflow on my 4.7 WJ...The 5x8x18 sounded decent, but the 4x14" round case sounded great! Really loud though.

sounds good but mines a 4.7, not sure it would sound the same... im sure pretty close still
I would have to check an see for sure. But it's oval and approx 24" long. I ordered mine from kolak@aol.com. Email him if you have any questions he's really helpful and knowledgeable. I think the shorter it is the louder it is. I paid bout $100 shipped from him.

Why would you say that? Nick is the best and has been extremely helpful to me as well as many other folks on this and other forums.

X2. I simply got his email from another member and emailed him. He responded very quickly and was very helpful in the numerous emails I sent him with questions. I told him what I wanted, and that's what he sent me.

Re: 4.7 Muffler -

Let me add, that I am all for supporting JG.org and I understand that Kolak is not a vendor here. Yes he is a small operation and he doesn't have a website etc... But he has top notch customer service and has always done right by me. If your going to bash some at least give your reasons. Don't just say he is a joke.

I dont typically bash vendors unless I have a reason to. I could care less if they are a JG vendor or not.

I ordered a tailpipe from him...Everything was just fine until I got the product. Something appeared to be not right/missing (looked like I needed another part to the over the axle bend). I called him and asked him about it , he insisted that everything was included, nothing was missing, etc. I ended up having to go to the local hot rod shop, getting a mandrel bent 3" elbow for 25-30 bucks, and then going to my exhaust guy (as he did not have a mandrel bender)

Long story short, my exhaust fit, but it was obviously different than what it should have been. Turns out he sent me a WJ hangar, a ZJ tailpipe...and again, missing a half of the over-the-axle piece. What a mess. I called him about it and as soon as I explained the fitment issues, he got EXTREMELY irritated and started yelling about how dare I come to him with this nonsense, that I was stirring up trouble for the hell of it, etc etc. He wanted to point the finger at me and my exhaust guy for incompetence. Only after 45 mins of going back and forth on the phone, I talked him into at least looking at some pics to see what I am talking about. Once that was done, he then conceded that he sent me the wrong parts.

About 4 or 5 weeks later I received the correct parts, which my exhaust shop installed without issue. Which meant I had to pay to install the exhaust I should have received to begin with.

I could live with the headache of having to go back and forth to the exhaust shop, but his attitude and total absence of professionalism once a problem arose left me with a sour taste in my mouth. It should also be noted that he did let me keep, so I could recoup some of my losses, the ZJ system. Again, the problem was not so much that I was out additional money but the way in which he conducted himself.

To make matters worse, The tailpipe he sent me started showing MAJOR rust after 4 months of being in Florida. Not at the weld seams, but the bend near the gas tank. I ended up having to coat it to prevent it from further damage. Another friend of mine (He is a member of this board, look up NJWJ) had a Kolak exhaust on his 04 WJ completely rust to pieces, literally, after 18 months of street use. Again, nowhere near the seams. Aluminized piping is NOT supposed to rust that fast.

I have been in the Jeep scene since 2005, and I have dealt personally with many different vendors....Kevin from Kevins Offroad, Marty from KRC Performance, Sean from Hemifever Tuning, Nick from AIR RAM, etc etc...Never had ANY issues whatsoever with any of them. I am sorry, but I am not the issue in this case.

That was my experience, think of it what you will.

It should sound exactly what you want since you have a 4.7L. Make sure you keep the resonator too so you don't have any drone!

He made a video:

You'll probably want to get a resonator as well. The 08-up 4.7's have them stock. But I don't think the pre 08 models have them.

Correct they do not. I like the setup though looks very clean, where did you get the tips?
