Aero Exhaust AT3030XL straight through muffler

Hi guys,

Looking to upgrade the exhaust on my 5.7 Hemi to something a bit loader.

Has anyone installed the Aero Exhaust AT3030XL muffler on their GC Hemi?

Rave reviews on the Dodge forums when fitted to their Hemi trucks.

"The AT3030XL is used to increase performance on high output cars and trucks. It is the most commonly used muffler in the Aeroturbine series because it has been proven to make power while keeping the exhaust tone to an acceptable level.
It is most commonly used on the Dodge Hemi engine but has been engineered to work on almost any application ranging from 2.5L-6.0L. The AT3030XL has a built in ceramic resonator that is rated up to 2000 degrees F. We know that most exhaust systems do not get that hot. Aero's competitors packing has been known to burn out at around 1300 degrees F
."

It looks like a straight swap for the big standard muffler that's fitted with a few mods to the tubing lengths.

Its got a built in resonator so could actually take the factory fitted one off for more V8 decibels.

Does the MDS work correctly with these type of "straight through" mufflers?

Any info or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Then i've got to find one!

They don't stock them over here in the UK.

Thanks

Paul

As you said the RAM guys love them, as far as the MDS goes yes it will work but you have to deal with having just a resonator and 4cyl drone. If you can disable MDS it would be great. I can't stand the sound of the MDS with non stock exhaust.

Delete MDS, and enjoy the sound....

Thanks for the reply IDOCTCC.

What does it sound like?

Do you know of any sound clips available?

If I get a hand held programmer then I could switch off the MDS but last time I contacted Diablo they said their units didn't support UK spec cars. I don't know why. It's still a Hemi??

Hmmm.... If you can get me your PCM # I can see if it is supported by SCT? It's located on the passenger side of the firewall. Look for "Motorola P/N:"

Re: Aero Exhaust AT3030XL straight through muffler

Flyin Ryan

Can't see the serial number sticker on the front of the PCM as it is covered by a steel plate as part of the support and fixings. The bottom of the PCM has another sticker that I read with the aid of a mirror.

This sticker reads
922Q24YC
20/08/05
18:56:48

I would have to remove the PCM to see the other sticker.
Looks like a messy job?

Cheers

From what I have heard it basically sounds like the whole exhaust has come loose, making sort of a rattling noise. My wife actually heard it before I did, but I usually have the radio cranked up louder than she does.
