Was it an easy install, did you notice more power or just noise? I have an aFe for the 4.7 on its way & I have a SC tuner on order also. I plan to install one before the other so I can tell which one actually makes a difference. Using the lower AIRBOX will hopefully keep water out if you do any splashing
Install was super easy. Nice and quiet arround town or on the freeway, but sounds good when you open it up. I would think it has to help on power, just looking at the old factory intake, this must flow much beter.
I like the AFE design as well, but took it off and went back to stock, as my better half drives the WK now and likes the quiet stock intake. I have the AFE II for sale, 1/2 price in the FS section, with new rubber coupler and cleaning /oil kit.
Just remove the "cup" from the bottom of the airbox, install an aluminum tube on it and route it out to behind the grill. Also, punch a small hole at the bottom (lowest point) of the new tube so it will drain any water that gets in. This was one of the first mods. I did when I got my WK. It'll flow as good as any aftermarket CAI and will give you all cold air too. I later installed a modified LX SRT8 airbox which, IMO is better yet.
