Re: aFe or Volant w/ Gibson Exhaust?

That is awesome you get 22-24 mpg highway... That is the highest I have ever heard of. He means that if you get intake and exhaust without addition tuning it is a waste of money since your computer will just recalibrate and take away the initial gains you feel after installation. The diablo or superchips helps feed for fuel and air into the combustion chamber, increase engine efficiency and power... Thus your 22-24 mpg. But be honest... You must be driving miss daisy to get that kind of mpg... Jk.

Well this is just flat out not true. With a the AFE intake and Gibson exhaust, not only does my HEMI sound like a HEMI but I had increased HP and low end torque. Paired with a Superchips tuner running the 91 tune I see upwards of 19 HWY when I run on cruise control. If I WOT all day I am down around 9-10. Just regular around town these days I get 11-13.

I highly recommend all three AFE, Gibson and Superchips flashpaq. Plus run some seafoam through your TB and gas tank (i don't recommend putting that stuff in your oil) and check your spark plugs.

Yeah I definitely am going slow as all hell. It's just nice to know I can get that. 21-22 is more like it when I set the cruise between 60-65.

Danny, did you notice any mileage gains after the srt8 headers?

I think you're missing the point. I love my jeep and don't really care about fuel economy but its a little confusing how a 2010 v8 with MDS and every other bit of modern technology can barely muster 14 mpg city. My local PD has a 2001 suburban with a 6 in lift and 35 in duratracs and gets about 12mpg around town.
