Another Intake Question!!

Alright fellas i got a 2009 4.7, lookin to upgrade the intake area, probably been asked a million times but just interested in fresh opinions, now i have heard some things that the wks perform best with the stock box, low ened torque is lost with the CAI or spomething, is this true? Or is it best to go with a whole system, and if so what does everyone like, Thanks guys

Yes it has been done to death, and is about a popular as the proverbial oil thread

Bottom line a the only gains you a likely to get with CAI on its own is noise and you will most likely loose power.

Do a google search and form you own options, however i think you will find reports similar to the above.

im pretty sure the power loss down low is a hemi thing, the 3/4.7 engines are a little different, they love flow and making them breathe better is the best thing you can do for them

Re: Another Intake Question!!

I put a K&N 63-1548 on my 09 4.7 and I think it was a improvement. I think the 4.7's respond well to CAI's.

AFE was huge improvement in my HEMI. I also tossed on a Gibson cutback shortly thereafter. No sense in sucking in more air if you can't get it out. IMO you shouldn't waste your time with one if you are not going to do the other. Combined you will notice as big difference. At least I did with the 5.7.
