Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

What is the price of one of these. I'm seeing pretty big price discrepancies between the ones I've found on Google. They're ranging from 35 -120 dollars. The most expensive being on site for Pivot Motorsports. Not really sure how to tell a legit one from a fake.

No one is "really" sure on how to tell a real from a fake one. I wasn't going to pay the massively inflated price on the Pivot site, so I found a seller on eBay who guaranteed me the authentic product. Two years ago, these products were all sub-$100. It seems that they all cycle in price as the internet hypes them and then they fade away again. No one even knows if they provide benefit. For the price I paid, it's well worth the peace of mind.

This product conforms to the pivot's website regarding authenticity, but doesn't conform to several reviews versions of authenticity around the web.

For example, the product packaging on mine had the "glowing" logo but all the other packaging matched. Additionally, all the hardware looked legit, including markings and coloration of cables except for the LCD unit. My unit had one display unit, versus the authentic which supposedly has 3. However, mine actually turns on and shuts off within the minute timeframe. At this point, I could care less whether its legit or not. Seems to be doing a good job; after all, it's really just a set of capacitors and grounding cables.

I think I walked away for like $55 shipped if I remember correctly.

This is a few years old but, I found this discussion rather interesting. Read the whole thing.

Yeah I'm debating trying this. Would you be able to take a somewhat close up image of the unit and then I'll use it to compare online? I'd be most appreciative.

If you go to the pivot site, they have a list of things to look for (with pictures) when determining authentic units.

Found it: http://pivotjp.com/imitation/imitation_raizin-e.html

Mine also didn't have a lot number, which means it's probably a fake...but I couldn't care any less. Nor am I willing to pay the $150+ for the "authentic" kit.

Re: Apexi super voltage stabilizer 5.7

As an update, I've noticed several improvements which can no longer be attributed to my rest computer due to battery disconnect.

The throttle response is definitely slightly improved compared to before.

My voltmeter is registering at least a constant 14v now, even with my amp/sub switched on. Typically, when not driving on the highway, the voltmeter would run down to 13.3v-ish inside the city when the amp/sub was engaged.

No difference in audio clarity.

No discernable difference in mpg, but I drive aggressively and mostly inside the city.

Note: some of these performance improvements (not the electrical ones) might be attributable to the Challenger IAT sensor installation, which I did simultaneously.l
