Arrington carbon fiber intake

Looking for advice, I installed the Arrington Carbon Fiber Intake and the Jeep is not idling werid, The idle dropped down to around 500, when it used to idle around 800. Then when i went in Reverse in a parking lot the jeep acutally stalled out. I looked around on the forum and most recommended to pull the neg. terminal on the battery to reset. I did this, but it is still idling weird when at a complete stop. Any advise out there?

Re: Arrington carbon fiber intake

does the little sensor install into the intake? That may be loose....or you could have an air leak somewhere on the intake. Check all connections

Re: Arrington carbon fiber intake

Well the air sensor is a little loose. It doesn't lock in like on the stock intake. Does anyone know how to make the air sensor fit tight on this type of intake?

Checked all clamps and they are tight.

Re: Arrington carbon fiber intake

The air sensor should have an O ring making a tight seal. If you lost the O ring or it doesn't seal properly, just take a small rubber band and play around until you get a complete and tight seal.

Re: Arrington carbon fiber intake

Wrap the sensor with either teflon tape until it fits in tight, or you can use double sided, double sticky tape, like carpet tape, I had the same issue on my AFE II and that worked fine for a long time. My aftermarket MAP sensor was also not tight enough, and just wrapped it with teflon tape until nice and snug.

Re: Arrington carbon fiber intake

I dont know about your CAI, but on mine, there's a 1/4 diameter rubber tube running from drivers side valve cover to the main tube on the CAI. If that is not connected or tight, it would idle low.
