Best Spark Plug for 2010 3.7

I have had two jeeps with the 3.7 An 08 Liberty and now a 2010 WK..I purchased both used from Jeep dealers and they both were certified. When they reach 30K I changed the plugs in both. I purchased the standard plug referred to in the manual but in both cases the plugs I removed were platinum. In both cases I then started seeing less MPGs by 1 or 2. Is the plug number in the manual a misprint? Should I be using platinum plugs?

You can cross reference the number on the plug to the same plug available at the auto parts store.

Re: Best Spark Plug for 2010 3.7

I would ONLY buy exactly what came installed from the factory. Call your local dealer's parts counter and just ask whats the stock plug for your jeep. The last 8 digits of your VIN will help them along with referencing the plugs.

Re: Best Spark Plug for 2010 3.7

I run either plain ole' copper NGK's or Denso's in everything I've owned for the last 20 years and have never had issues. This includes multiple vehicles, motorcycles, jetskis etc etc. I'm not into the precious metal plugs and don't care about extending spark plug longevity. I do 30k mile plug changes in the vehicles as part of a major service (motorcycle and jetskis I do different) and most times the plugs I pull out look very good.

stockers work well, autolites are good, I also like Bosch for almost anything.
