Re: Catch Can Results

IIRC you cant use the engine cover if you mount it there. You can mount it anywhere though, theres lots of spots to put it. I put mine on the pass side wheel well
not the best pics, but you get the idea

Re: Catch Can Results

I got a question. Where is all that oil going when you don't have a CC installed? After joining and seeing all this, I've ordered one, but at ~20K miles, shoulld I be cleaning/draining something?

the oil gets fed back into your intake for burning. you should take a look at your throttle body and clean that.

Re: Catch Can Results

Quick Question here. Do I need hose clamps for the hose connecting to the fittings of the catch can / pvc? I purchased the hoses from billet tech - and they seem to get on pretty snug without.

Thanks

BT hose was ok. I had to put clamps on the oil vent hose I bought to allow the beauty cover to be re-installed. One of the BT hoses was too short to do that.
Hoses need to be tight enough to maintain the vacuum drag from the intake manifold through to the PCV valve. If in doubt, add a clamp. No reason to remove until you sell or scrap the Heep.

Re: Catch Can Results

So I was already a catch can believer after I installed mine this summer and pulled out a couple tablespoons of oil at each 6k oil chance. Then this morning I'm prepping for a trip, and haven't changed the oil/drained the can in 5k (prepping for a 1k trip), so I decide to check the can before I leave. Now granted the PCV valve was replaced 25k ago (OEM) and this is 5k winter city driving miles, by man I freaked out! I immediately pulled the intake to check the TB as some blowback must have been getting in there for a while! Thankfully there was only a slight carbon build up on the back of the TB butterfly valve (which I'll scrub down again at the next oil change). See the results for yourself!

Re: Catch Can Results

lf you have a 5.7 and live in a climate like British Columbia you need one. Sure you will crap yourself to start with when it fills 2/3 in 1000km LOL but ive lost no coolant in 10000km and used 400ml off oil . Admittedly i drive in some pretty horrendous weather .

Best $100 ive spent in along time. l thought i was bling to start with, now i wouldnt have a hemi without one, im a believer!
