CATs Gone Bad

Hey everyone been awhile since I've been on. My cats have gone bad and they have been bad for awhile. Im looking for some opinions for replacements. Im stuck between getting the stock replacement style OR getting some high flows, a JET stage 2 and a new thermostat...its only a 4.7 daily highway driver so I feel thats a little over kill, but I already have a flowmaster and a K&N installed. I really have not done my homework yet, this just kind of popped in my head today more just looking for what other people have done and some ideas.

I see magnaflow has two direct fit options. One OEM style and another style that Im not sure is supposed to have more flow? Any insight would be great. Feels good to be back.

Re: CATs Gone Bad

The cheaper magnaflow cats are for "off road" and may cause the check engine light to go on. The other ones are also high flow, but have higher quality catalysts. I have no experience with either one.

Id stay away from jet chips. They dont work as the pcm learns around it. Im gonna be buying the pricier high flows from magnaflow in the coming months

Re: CATs Gone Bad

I slept on it and decided not go the Jet direction.

Now Im thinking just the "more expensive" cats from magnaflow. I just want the damn check engine light to go away and stay away and a little more flow wont hurt anything

Anyone out there have any experience with the magnaflows?

I hear you on the flow thing, my 3.7's exhaust is as good as its gonna get for flow. BUT its not emissions legal, and is the reason why im going with the high flows in the coming months.
