Horse power looks good on paper, but torque wins races.

So there is no way a 3.7 with an intake plus and exhaust would compensate for a whole litre that the 4.7 has. I'd bet it still would not be that close.

Wouldnt torque go up also with more HP? I really have no clue when it comes to torque anyways, ive never paid attention to those numbers, only HP.

Anyway someone can explain it in simple terms?

Re: Exhaust for 3.7

I've never raced anyone off the line in my WK, but maybe because how it looks now I have people wanting to race on highways, 2 weeks ago had two different cars racing me down rt3 and was pretty fun, granted we were all passing cars in breakdown lanes and cutting it very close with tractor trailers. Mine does seem pretty quick. Quicker than my 94 GC 5.2 beast gas guzzler.

pretty much HP is a by product of torque. torque is what spins the axles, turns the wheels, and so on. so think of it like this. your walking, torque is what moves you, balance and coordination keeps you moving, thats HP.

Re: Exhaust for 3.7

Horsepower is calculated from torque. I don't remember the formula but basically-a larger engine will make more power down low. Both engines can make the same peak power but the AVERAGE power output will be much greater with the 4.7. The 3.7 will also have to spin at a higher rpm to create that horsepower.

Re: Exhaust for 3.7

Took a clip of my Magnaflow 16632 catback for my 3.7 WK. I took it with my digital cam so the sound quality isnt the best. But can get the basic idea how it sounds.

Video works.

Thanks timmy.

You might want to edit your photobucket privacy options if you have some pics that you dont want to be public.

(album options > album settings > my album is *click on what you want" - private"
