Flowmaster and Magnaflow seem to have better reputations.
I had a Flowmaster last for over 30K..

Cherry bomb, didn't even know they were still in business...

You'd want a good high flow cat to stay legal and emissions safe, but from there, unless you have local noise ordinances, have you Googled for "mufflers" that look like a regular muffler, but are just straight thru? You could do this on your own as you install one...

No, it would be stuff your foot to the floor and hold it there.
Glasspacks can get pretty loud at that point with a big engine.
